Speed limiters for buses

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/driving/article6262108.eceIMO if this is brought in there will be plenty of bus drivers driving ‘on the limit’ to stay on schedule- which would be a bad thing. On the other hand it would be nice to know that the bus hurtling towards you across two lanes as you filter IS doing 30mph and not their usual 45 odd.

Looks like it is only a matter of time before all vehicles are factory fitted with these devices- Personally I wouldn’t want to be overtaking at 29mph knowing there’s nothing in reserve.:(. Also it did occur to me that soon bicycles will be the fastest thing on the road.

Ah, making drivers think less on the presumption that this will make them better drivers!

I do find these odd - I don’t remember ever having more than a couple of near misses that were down to excessive speed. It’s generally dangerous driving that puts me in danger, and I really wish they’d start policing that.
