Sorry Foxy, wasted your time...

Sorry Tash, not convinced I need them…

And with my piece of Italian sh1t not starting again (four batteries in as many months!), I doubt this would be a good idea either, as it’d just drain the battery even more.

Dodgy regulator/rectifier/alternator Paivi? Never good fun eh. Got an Optimate (charger + healer)?

Alternator apparently replaced just in January. Don’t have a garage, so can’t have the Optimate, as it’s not portable. Have a portable one at home, and it takes the entire top box.

Am trying to find somebody who really understands my bike so they could take it apart and sort it out once and for all. Either that, or I’ll get rid of it, I’m just so fed up with it not starting when it’s a bit nippy.

Takes about 20mins to work out which part is failing.

If you buy a multimeter I can talk you through it or provide a link with a full set of detailed instructions. You could even provide a set for your local shop which would probably go a long way to helping, most shops know nothing about electrics.

I can also design a bypass after having a look at your scooters wiring diagram to reroute your charging system onto a seperate loom which seems to sort reliability on Vespa’s and other scooters when this continually happens. Tends to be corrosion internally in the loom.

What bike have you got, Paivi?

Well Paivi… You can’t say that I dont think about you!!! LOL… If you need some one to look at it, there is a garage round the corner from me, they are good with scooters… And they don’t charge the earth… Pm me and I’ll give you their number…
