some really haven't got the message have they

was behind a cage earlier on and driver was on the phone (whats new?), not paying one wee bit of attention to the road and it’s user’s…a near miss-nearly knocked two biker’s off into on-coming traffic whilst he overtook a bus. still carried on-so did we!.
so there he is with the ’ it’s all about me on the road’ attitude, changing lanes, no taking a glance at his mirrors, cutting us all up as he goes along, no sorry, no nothing to correct his actions.

…now there’'s me (driving) and my 2 other colleagues who ended up following in an unmarked mondeo (don’t be silly, i can’t give out the reg!), wearing our police stuff over our plain clothes (you can’t miss us if you look properly in your rear view & stuff).

followed for some few moments whilst we did PNC checks/observed.
eventually during his conversation he got lost in navigation, & decided to U-turn. as he sees me, us, he’s still on the phone-& in a bit of traffic the other way now.
not a care in the world!.

i show my identification and ask him to stop & park up-so with that he just says ‘oh sorry’ and carries on with the conversation-driving off still-thinking it’s oh all ok officer! - (i don’t think so mo-fo!!).

i jump out, as does a colleague, and i manage to get to the keys and remove them from the ignition.
he jumps out shouting back…why did you do that,…
IT WAS AN OVERSEAS CALL!! …:ermm:

somehow he thought those were exempt-especially if it was to the middle east! (yeh right). WTF?!!.
(i wonder which calling card allows a driver to get away with that here!).

anyway, after he knew the bullshit weren’t working, it all ended well,…with a fixed penalty 3 points, £60!.

maybe next time he’ll see the signs to put the phone down & get a warning!.
people driving while on phones!! - they really **** me off!.

Get in! Nice one mate, twts like that really pssssss me off!

Excellent work!

still a lot driver use regularly telephone while driving.

Why they don’t use camera to give penalty to those people? Or using phone while driving is considered a rule that might be ignored??

EM

Spot on! Great work.

Too much of it going on:crazy:

A superb bit of police work.

I was with a colleague last year who decided to take a call while I was a passenger. He then decided to fire-up his laptop and drive whilst barking out numbers from a spreadsheet to the buyer on the other end of the phone – all whilst negotiating country lanes at ridiculous speeds in his pimped-up X5.

When I had a go at him about his stupidity he said “But I do it all the time”!

That’s alright then???

Valuable police work, I say. What a total prannet. Kick 'em, kick 'em again, keep on kicking 'em. They’re lethal.

Nice one.

Totally insane isn’t it’s one thing to commit the offence and another thing to commit and demonstrate that you’re not in proper control of the vehicle. I’d say he got off lightly with a ticket as it sounds like he was in line for a S3 RTA (Careless) or an S2 at for that matter.

I was driving today, and realised that the car in front of me had no brake lights! It was well worth a stop. I’ve reported him but realistically, he wont get caught… still I might check the CAD just on the off chance

good stuff, they p*ss me off

spent 2mins in slow moving traffic alongside a stoopid pratt in drop top beemer the other day on A40
kept my revs high and played a lickle toon on the horn to stop his conversation, he got annoyed, tried to continue, i am a stubborn b*stard, so he had to give up

Your actions are supported here!
In fact, I’d vote for commission payments to every officer that books a cager on the phone. Rsoles, they are. Grrrrr.

well done

Going by S E London, this has got to be the most commonly and flagrantly broken law of all time. (Ignoring the no littering laws.)

It irritates me so much that I’m worried about my horn burning out from ruining these cagers calls.

I’m also SE London and it’s horrendous.

I picked up my son a few moths ago from school and saw 5 people using their mobiles whilst collecting their kids. Crazy.

Unless it becomes like drink driving and losing license it wont stop. Here is a law that would be supported by most but they (the politicians) do bugger all.

Put the wrong item in your bin and it’s a massive fine.

This country has gone mad.

Nice one Darryl:DI thank you for doing your bit to keep us bikers safe:)

I’m told (but you know how accurate those things are) that in addition to the massive fine, they also confiscate the 'phone complete with SIM card.

Gets my vote.

Yeah but would’nt it be job satisfaction if you could just STAMP on the phone there and then!:w00t::smiley:
