So that’s why there’s diesel all over the road…

Cycling east along the Highway at around 7.30amthis morning a large white truck (only a couple of sizes down from an artic)pulled out from the Texaco garage opposite the now closed Saab garage, nearpole position mc. Noticing something falling off the truck I slowed down and asnothing behind me, moved to the middle of the road to collect the fuel tankcap. Someone else from the garage shouted to the driver who stopped in thestationary traffic, and he reclaimed and replaced it.

So, a matter of luck that I saw the cap, thatthe driver hadn’t left the scene and that no diesel was slopped from East toWest London as the driver made his merry way on to work. Firstly, what aneeeijut driver, and secondly what a crap design that you can detach the fuelcap from the tank, or even start the vehicle with it open.

Goes without saying, be careful out there…

Well done that man. There’s a lot of dribblers out there too :frowning:

…a lot of pre-Budget tank-brimming going on too…
