This is to fellow r1 owners (everyone i mean) i think with the amount of r1s that have been stolen recently we sould all keep a watch for any one following us home or just looking over our bikes when parked up ect (this also goes for all bikes dont mean to sound like im saying r1s only guys) lets see if anything looks out of the ordenary this next couple of weeks you never know if we start being more suspecous we just might get a break. keep them safe and locked up guys do what ever you can.
Nice one Woody…Its getting to the point where I think it’s not worth having a nice bike on the road anymore…Seems too risky.
i agree, im like that anyway, maybe slightly paranoid:w00t: but i dont care, for the doubters, come live where i live and tell me you wouldnt feel the same.
all these bikes that have gone missing in the last few weeks have to be by pro’s, maybe even the same lot?
it sucks, i said it today to a mate after reading about afro’s misfortune, my mate rides too and agreed its not worth having a new big bike, or a nice sportsbike, not unless you have a proper secure garage or you put it in your living room!
dont get me wrong all sorts of bikes, get stolen, but sportsbikes seem to be top of the list.
I agree … however, one thing I don’t get … is I’m always riding too fast for anyone to follow me ?
I mean, it would have to be another bike to follow me, as if for example I’m riding home … I’m too quick … then i goes straight into the garage!
So even if anyone was to drive down my road, they wouldn’t know where the bike went? :doze:
there not only doing bike’s but mopeds aswell (i know its not a BIKE)
Sometimes they just smash a garage in randomly and steal whatevers inside, so you’re safer, but not totally safe…Most R1s are stolen from garages AFAIK.
i believe the culprit is Easyrider trying to prove his “3 year theory”;)
hmm yeah probably, brand new ones more likley, i had a 125zip nicked just beofre xmas, that was most definetly kids, plus it was battered! probabaly from outside my area ,as i know all the kids round my way and they knwo me, and know better than too touch my bikes:angry: infact i stilll checked with them all, nicely of course;)
think its times like this that you should be allowed to take the law into ya own hands, and meter out some pucker justice with my mate Tommy as in tommy bar !!! round the f****in head,
pmsl
Tell ya what, one of the benefits of living in small city in Italy. My fear of my baby getting nicked has quartered since i left London.
(plus the weathers better, the foods tastier the roads are be…blah blah hehehehe ;))
If it’s so good over there why are you wearing a wooly hat?;)![]()
I WAS RIDING THROUGH BUSH YESTERDAY & A PLAIN WHITE VAN PULLS UP BESIDE ME WITH 3 YOUNG GUYS IN THE FRONT…

EXCUSE ME
LOOK AT HIM & TELL HIM IF HE WANTS THE BIKE I’LL GIVE HIM ONE CHANCE TO TAKE IT, THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN & IM GONE. KEPT ON CHECKING BEHIND TO SEE IF THEY TRIED TO FOLLOW BUT I DONT THINK THEY HAD A CHANCE. IF I HAD THE TIME I WOULD HAVE PULLED IN SOMEWHERE & FOLLOWED THEM FOR A WHILE.
NOT SURE IF THEY WERE JUST BEING NICE BUT I WOULD HAVE PUT MONEY ON THEM BEING UP TO NO GOOD.
WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TOO. DO PEOPLE THINK WE’RE STUPID.

I don’t think you can be too suspicious really. It’s your bike, keep it and its details private. I don’t think being followed home is a common occurance, but being spotted near where you store the bike is always an easy thing. You’ve just got to keep a low-profile around the area, keep it out of sight and secured to something very heavy as well as possible.
But at the end of the day, if the thieves want it, they’ll find a way of getting it. That’s the reality of it. You can’t afford to get too attached or invested in it.

Believe me, they dont NEED to follow us home, they can do that whenever they want…all they need is the number plate and can now go online and look up where the owner lives, or near enough and just go and take a look round the roads until they find it…esp if its left outside the owners home…when they go looking round the carparks at all of us parked up, they just need a pen and paper and take down the reg number…then just take their time till they are ready…could be any one of them that go looking round at the ace at our bikes…
yes, and furthermore what I’ve experienced when moving to London is that there’s a huge lack of indoor parking spaces… it’s bloody difficult to find a garage in central London… I’ve been parking my R1 on the road for nearly 2 years before coming across a parking at a silly rate… btw, in which small town do you live? (statistically foreigners tend to live in Tuscany, with Umbria catching up very quickly…)
