So I thought I would make a change to my bike..

Decided I wanted to change the colour of my bike, since I was quoted £800 for a paint job!! wtf I only wanted one colour, I decided to do it myself…and when I say, I did it myself, I mean CheekyChick done it lol

Anyway…I usually find these threads don’t have enough pics so I took way too many…

What it did look like.

After we took some parts of the fairing off…

The new cone on…

Side panel and tank on…

Have a friendly wave…

Some decals for the bike…

More decals…

The final look at a gas station…

Feel free to tell me I made it worse.

I personally like it!!

Love it, looks great

Ah so you did it yourself??? :w00t:

…nice…

Very nice…

Should have painted the hugger!!!..its gloss and spoils the whole thing!!! pmsl;):P:D
It looks better than it tastes!!:Whistling:

TBH Chunky HE (no way it was me) thought about it too but it was getting dark so HE decided to do the hugger another day so HE fitted it back on after HE gave it a proper clean and removed all the chain lube and sticky muck

Hugger will get dirty soon anyway.

We don`t think Kaos is a stickler for the “three day rule”:stuck_out_tongue:

Looks nice mate.

Thanks! Cheeky did all the work though…I just watched and got in the way a lot.

I will, hopefully, be replacing the rear hugger with a carbon one to match the front mudguard at some point, so didn’t want to waste time on it.

Just ordered new indicators and a new tail tidy to finish it up.

and took plenty of pics…

and Thank you waspie for your help with your eye for detail and Ratcatcher’s help and for all the tea/ coffee that kept us going

I think it looks soooooo much better lol glad you liked the vinyls;)
At least it sums you up…“Special” :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks really nice  - what colour paint did you choose - is it matt black or something more specific.

nice!!!

Halford’s matt black, £7 a tin, used two tins.

nah he didn’t use two tins, he used a third of the first one then I used the rest lol :stuck_out_tongue: but im glad it came out better than I expected…there you go Kaos, that’s your birthday pressie sorted hehehehheeheeeee :P:P:P

Excellent work CC

I always wander about matt paint, how easy/difficult is it to clean? Since it doesn’t have a glossy smooth finish - when you pull a sponge across it, doesn’t it just rip the sponge to pieces/rub off …?

Or is half the point of matt paint that it doesn’t shine, therefore you don’t need to clean it? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice job.
Don’t forget to get the v5 changed and let the insurance company know .

Thanks  I enjoyed doing the whole job. So far a damp cloth was enough to take all smudges/finger prints off after fitting the panels, the bodywork feels smooth and even but because it was the first time I did this I have made a couple of small mistakes which I’ve learnt from and won’t do again lol :stuck_out_tongue:
