Snetterton Weds 14th

Booked in with Focused Events - anyone going??

Me.

Goin up the night before, throw everything in the van and kip in the van.

How you gettin there?

Riding up in the morning. What bike you on?

That’s an awful long way to drive in the morn of the trakday. If I was to go in the morn would have to set off at 5. Gonna be tired before you even get on trak so decided to drive up the nite before n kip in the van.

Mite even take the tent, not sure yet. Will have room for 1 more bike in the van if anyone needs and think my mates will have room if pushed, so if anyone has an issue with their bike shouldn’t worry bout gettin back home.

Will be on black n silver SRAD, have booked in inters.

All my Snett sessions I’ve ridden up - about 2 1/4 hours, not too bad.

The bikes all prepped up with new tyre and already in the back of the van ready for the off tomorrow night. cant wait.

Fresh set of 010’s - check,

new ride height adjuster - check,

rear bungs on, - check

( swelling Battle of Britain music ),

baglux - check

ignition - check

chocks away…

Good luck guys. The track was in pretty good nick at the weekend, tad bumpy at Richies and Corams where the cars have rippled the surface slightly. If you get issues with the bumps, change your line, you will find a smooth path through both.

What a good day
Got up to pissing rain, and as if by magic it stopped 30 minutes later when I set off.
100% dry track day.

Three of the funniest yahoos on GSXR 750, GSXR750, & new R6 - their awsome ability to go fast in a straight line was only matched by a total lack of ability to corner. Never seen it quite so bad LOL

Went into the chicane to find the R6 flat on its side - didn’t look quite so fast there.
Idiots riding like tits - overheard his mates all telling him how ’ unlucky ’ he was - what a joke!

Nice to meet you Puppy - popped down to see if you’d stoked the barbecue, but you were out!!

Love Snetterton Got any pics? It makes me laugh too when some folks say ‘unlucky’… Luck doesn’t have anything to do with it most times!

Just got back and am totally shattered. Cracked open a bottle of cider and now just chillin, reflecting on the very exciting day I’ve had. Think that has to be the best one yet, think I’ve got my confidence back.

The track is very similar to Llandow, but much larger, and much much faster. You come thru the bombhole with your knee buried into the tarmac and it more or less stays there until you have to break for the chicane. Awesome. Knee down at 110mph,scary stuff.

Went thru a rear tyre in just 3 sessions, luckily there was a van with part worns there sellin for 20quid, and someone who’d fit n balance for a tenner, sorted. Shame they wouldn’t just turn the tyre round for you coz it was only the rhs that wore out.

I opted to go in the inters group and it seems like I made the right decision as the variation in abilities was minimal. Only 2 chaps in the group overtook me, but they were on larger capacity machines. I however, managed to pass 3 riders, mostly on the corners as my bike was down on power compared to the other newer bikes.

So far, taking my timings from the video I shot, the best time I managed was 1.23.8 so I am well happy.

Right, now for the important bit, if it works, fotos.

Nice pics Puppy - I knew I forgot to do something - doh! I time some of the inters, they were around 1:23’s - Fast groups around 1:17!!

I would have prefered to be in inters - but was booked by my mate - I can just about handle fast experienced show-offs in Novice, as at least they know what they’re doing. But these guys were total newbie idiots, and getting competative with each other.

Funny thing ( and still haven’t figured this out ) is matey on the R6 was ahead of me around the bombhole/coram bit. When I got to the chicane, it looked as if he’d gone in waay too fast - went across the grass on the left section of the left hander, lost it and slid back onto the tarmac.

So his bike was smack dab in the middle of the track just on the exit from the chicane. Now the marshal was waving a YELLOW (???) flag at that station. Matey-boy was just standing on the track right next to the bike looking at it, as we all weaved our way around him/bike.

So we all carry on as it was a yellow - got to the straight and the reds were out so we all finished the lap to pull back into the pits.

When we got to the chicane again, Mr. R6 was STILL JUST STANDING THERE IN THE TRACK NEXT TO HIS BIKE. - FOR THE LIFE OF ME IT LOOKED AS IF HE WAS CHECKING THE DAMAGE!!

WTF!!!

We all had to weave around them AGAIN to get to the pits! weird.
