If my experience of Datatag is anything to go by, you just wasted money in the Met Police area.
I had to expalain to the desk sergeant what Datatag, no, not Dart Tag, was.

Yes smartwater seems to be a pan uk force -er service (force sounds too aggressive) recognised marker
Smart water kits have been around for many years but I’ve never heard of a bike being recovered to the owner because of it.
