As attended by Adam M, Fridayman, Stan, CityCBR and myself
What a day!!! Lovely weather, not too hot, great company, great instruction and I even had my own personal hairdresser!!! (I think CityCBR has the photo proof of that one) I found the track very daunting after Cadwell even after the warnings in the briefing. As its much wider, you think you are going slower so I messed up 2 sessions by not feeling comfortable and going a bit too quick into some bends and messing up my braking and gears. After some instruction by a very lovely fella it bought me back on track.
Is this normal, as soon as I get off track I forget everything and when I’m on it, it all feels very sureal like its not me riding!!! The only corner where this didn’t happen was vale, GRRRR hated it, i just couldn’t get my lines right and I ****ed it right up. Apart from that what a fantastic day although I think it will take more than 1 trackday to learn Silverstone. I’m absolutly cream crackered now so off for a radox bath to relax my aching muscles. Here are some photos (pro and un-pro)
yeah good day again at silvers aside for the usual muppets trying to take you out… the guy said 6 feet for each other not 6 mm and jamming on your brakes.
It was nice for me to do a second day at silvers and after the madness of the first two sessions i got into a nice flow and started to link some parts of the track together.
Its a nice felling when you get 6 or 7 corners linked up and it all seems like one flowing passage.
let me know anytime you want me to do your hair carla
I didn’t see your picys before, your looking GREAT!!! I want to be like that when I grow up
Your wonderful at plaits hun, your daughter and wife must be so proud of you, I am It didn’t matter that i missed the start of my session cos you were such a perfectionist and HAD to get it right LOL
Evening all.I ended up falling asleep when i got in this eve.Anyway now i’ve sorted the picces from my dog of a phone enjoy…btw my first track day was ace.
Thanks LMRR for pre-day thoughts & advice and making all other riders jealous of us for having female company(Attached your pic).
Adam M - Obviously from your pics you would have been held up in our group!Geat pics.
FridayMan & Stan - Cheers for good company on/off track.
Nice pics guys! Adam looks like a pro out there, he`s been practicing
LMRR youre looking through the corners a lot, thats good practice. As you get more tracktime youll feel less surreal on track , im sure its just a case of building your confidence. You may be trying too hard out there and thats why you cant remember what you done on track. Your attention can be used up very quickly out there and then before you know it its all used up in the next corner and the previous turn is forgotten.
So slow down
Ah, you lucky bastids! Superb photos, nice one LMRR, Adam, Fridayman, CBR, etc… Fridayman, how good is the GSXR looking?! Also, LMRR, the track bike looks great! Nice leathers as well!
Adam, Stan, Damian, Carla - any of you guys get trampled by elephants in your sleep last night? Usually I feel a bit stiff the next day, but today I’m aching all over - even my right hand!? Think I need to grind the locating pins off the clip-ons and move them out a bit.
Great stuff - certainly beats my experience of Snetterton, which was my first outing on the NC30. That’ll be the track to not do on a 400 when you’re surrounded by bigger machines then!
Sadly my track day season is over for this year too, roll on next year, and enjoy yourselves those who are still out this year.
