Any idea as to why this is? Also which one would be nice to restrict down? SOmeone said the Sv but Iv had no comments on the last two yet. I DO like R6s tho, thats my dream after a CBR.
This is pretty much my preference at the moment:
1. CBR 600rr (not gonna happen) £2k insurance
2. R6 Realistic if I can get one cheap enough
3. Sv650 really nice bike I think
Comments are more than welcome Also this is a bike after having my NSR125 33bhp, which would be a realistic step?
Would I die after stepping on a 600? Ppl tell me Gixxers aren’t nice for a 1st 600
The NSR is for the 2nd year also lol. I used the same details everytime, just changed the bike. They are all for 3rd Party Only.
BTW Anyone know where I can get a cheap R6??
Who’s Ross and what’s he selling? Also, i cant afford TPFT on ANYTHING, all well over £2000 I dno why tho, cuz the fire and theft has nothing to do with my riding does it? I mean me being a rubbish rider, dnt mean my bikes more likely to be stolen.
Maybe its just typical London. I need to insure it with a mated address lol. She lives in a village and my insurance there would be like half the price.
Better still, maybe i should insure my Mom and get named. Shes had her car license since the 70s so she doesn’t need a CBT does she??
Ill find out
Go the Sv mate. I’ve got the '99 naked version and it’s my second “big” bike. It doesn’t cost much to maintain and it just about keeps up with an R6 sub 80mph…and there’s LOADS of torque . Like fridayman says, RizlaSV has a really nice fully-faired SV for sale…drop her a PM if you’re interested.
I’ve just had a quote for a Honda Super BlackBird 1100XX - £938.00
My CBR600FS is £170.00
Doubt you will be able to get insured via a policy in your mum’s name. Insurers ask about how long you’ve had your cat A licence and i’ve always had to send a copy in to them. It’s always expensive in the first year, but should drop dramaticly in year two, provided you have a clear round. Phone around and ask if any do these named policies.
And what happens when you need to claim & they ask for a copy of your licence &/or check your details against the electoral roll or the countless other personal details databases they have access to ?
Being a rubbish rider doesn’t affect your chances of actually getting the bike stolen, but insurance companies are savvy enough to realise that it does significantly increase the chances of a claim for a bike being stolen.
Why ? Well imagine the scenario, young rider mis-judges bend resulting in bike-tarmac interface. He/she goes to dealer to get quote for fixing it - £2000 They don’t have the money & as they’ve only got TPF&T insurance they can’t claim for a damaged bike, but if it was to be stolen…
OK then I get you, but now I know exactly what to do when I do crash my bike on TPFT lol
Seriously though, if i pay that much for the Fire and Theft, i couls buy a new bike, the cost of the ones I’m getting. And my insurance wont go up as a result either lol. Insurance dont have to know If I dont hit anyone else.
