Theft of metal happens a lot but this case really makes me mad.

These people who are stealing metals are total sh*ts - not only are they showing utter disrespect to the war-dead - they also don’t care if they send people who are currently alive to their deaths/injury by nicking manhole covers!
No limit to how low some people will go. Ought to be apprehended and handed in to the nearest Army garrison.

I read two articles on the BBC website that made react in ways that I normally don’t.
The metal theft shows what a money centric country we have become and damn all other things to achieve more wealth. It also highlights the lack of respect for anyone or anything that has become prevalent. It is sad.
This article nearly made me cry, and scream in anger and fury.

It’s not the first time, either. A few months ago some panels were stolen from the Royal Navy memorial at either Plymouth or Portsmouth, or somewhere else with sea and sailors. The thing is if they’re caught they won’t get a very big sentence. It’s just seen as a straightforward theft, which has a quite lowly status in the punishment stakes.
