I was wanting to shave the foam of the bottom of the saddle to reduce the ride height, anyone else ever done this? I was told this should reduce an inch or so from the riding position and being vertically challenged I’ll take whatever I can get :w00t:
Wondered if anyone could help me and has the tools. Also I was wanting to remove the rear footpegs if you knew how to do that.
mark out the bits your gonna chop off, also try and cut off at the sides most of the time when ya cant touch ground width of the seat is the culprit, when chopped bits off just get some sand paper and smooth over, use a hard grit then a smooth grit.
the the rear of your seat there are 2 bolts that can be easily removed with an allen key. Pop the seat off you will be able to see the screws holding the rear pegs on a slightly larger allen key will have them off for you whole job should take less than 5 minutes.
In relation to the saddle shaving, its a pretty lean saddle on the R6 as it is but worts case you could just buy another seat off ebay. I hope the above helps.
also i just finished my exams so back in action will shoot you a PM next time im heading out. Off to the TT this evening back on the 15th so chat after then.
Alright mate,How’re you? How’d the exams go? All good on my side, been out on the bike a bit. Did you ever have the fairing between below the tank come off? I was on the motorway doing 80 and the plastic bit flew off!! Went to the dealership and apparently it’s a common thing for the post 06 R6s.Cheers for the advice, I’m going to play around with it next weekend hopefully.Hope you enjoy the TT and speak soon.
