SHAME! - Armr Kiso Jacket

Hi all,

Just a quick note to prevent anyone from buying the ARMR Kiso Jacket.
http://www.armr-moto.com/products/kiso/

I bought this jacket a few months ago to do my DAS and as a budget way to gear up. The price was very attractive at £99 and it came with trousers for free, so after reading around some rather positive reviews I decided to buy it from sportsbikeshop.co.uk (flawless service and excellent site by the way). Well now a few thoughts.

  • 1 - Initially and out of the box it looked like very decent jacket for an entry level piece of equipment. Plus free trousers!!
  • 2 - After 10 uses or so ALL the Velcros began to fail, at the moment it’s like having none
  • 3 - After 15 uses the zippers of the small pockets began to jam one of them has being left unusable forever
  • 4 - After 20 uses aprox the main zipper is jamming and will suddenly open up from the bottom up
  • 5 - Threads of fabric are coming out of everywhere (now I’m starting to be concerned about my safety, will the cordura hold on a slide?) The freaking thing is falling apart!!

Positive bit: I’ve been through a few heavy showers and it remained dry and it seems to be fairly warm

I have not even used it that much since after that I bought a Leather jacket for the spring/summer. The use given to the jacket was very very regular, not abusing the gear at all.

Conclusions: AVOID this jacket. The low price does not justify this absolute piece of **** jacket, it’s just not well made at all, avoid at all costs even if you are on a low budget like I was at the time, save up or buy second hand.
Conclusions number 2: Please people, do not make reviews right after buying something, that’s not a reviewing, you are just showing off. Give it at least 6 months of use and come back with solid conclusions. I find that many people gets overexcited and have this stupid urge of reviewing products straight away out of the package!!!

Anyway I hope this helps and it’s indexed by search engines so newbies like me don’t get fooled again when gearing up.

Cheers!

That old adage, you get what you pay for - my brother bought a cheapo RST jacket which experienced the same problems and he returned it, motorcycle clothing really should meet some minimum standards as its for the riders safety.

Everything velcro I have has turned into afro over the course of a few months.

Bought a £30 jacket off ebay, had it for 8 months and it’s still going strong! No brand, china special. :)))
