Basically there’s a few annoying kids in the area that have started to cause problems on the estate. It’s a nice place and I don’t think they live around here.
Plus there’s some other strange goings on and I’m kinda thinkin local drug dealers are starting to use the area.
I’d also like to monitor our drive that goes up to the 4 garages belonging to 4 houses so that I can see who goes up there in case anything happens to the cars or bikes.
Like I said, the estate is a nice place with new homes and nice families…but being quiet its a perfect target for scum to abuse.

I use Macs, so downloaded “Security Spy”.
There is a license fee for the software, with various options (multiple cameras, etc)
It’s pretty cool, has motion sensing, can be set up to run to a schedule, send activation emails, webcast, etc.
I picked up the camera from Maplin for about £70. Its a colour CCD with Infrared for night time. It runs through a KWorld DVD Maker 2 dongle. (Also Maplin £20)
If you want to go the whole hog, you need to register the camera(s) too. This means the footage is admissible in court as evidence.
You need to notify the Commissioner of Information, pay a £35 fee, post signage and keep a written log. There is also a list of conditions you must adhere to, such as how long you keep the footage, position of camera, viewing angles, etc. Mainly to keep within privacy laws.
There’s various websites around that give really good advice on all this. Especially the legal side.
Funnily enough, I had a couple of texts from my bike today. And came home to find it had been pushed over against the better halfs car.:w00t:
No damage to the bike thank god, but nasty bar end shaped dent in her door.
So thanks to the footage, i’ll soon be up on an assault charge when i get hold of the little chavvy tw@t, 'cos i know what he looks like!!!:crazy:
