New to this forum. Name’s Jimmy and I am from Victoria, Canada. I will be relocating to London in Sep for work and the wife and I have been looking at accommodation options in London. Most places do not have secure parking. I definitely want to bring my motorcycle with me. Google search hasn’t turn up much. There’s a place call MEF storage on the outskirts of London but they seem to deal more with long term storage. Are there secured self storage/parking options in London? We are considering living in the city of Westminster and the plan is either to walk or tube it to work, so the motorbike will be for evening and weekend fun mostly. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Your best chance is to live in a block of flats with underground parking. I don’t know much about Westminster to be able to advise on that area unfortunately (other than the impression it’s incredibly expensive). I’ve just recently moved into a modern flat in Wandsworth where I have secure underground parking. We have 2 bedrooms and 900sqft for £2k per month (+bills).
Finding a property with a garage is really difficult and if you’re talking about living in the borough of Westminster, I suspect ludicrously rare and expensive. However, it is probably the ideal. As Alex said, a flat with an underground secure car part is your most likely bet.
Yes these storage solutions are for more long term and often they require you to empty bike of oil and petrol (for safety reasons).
Bear in mind that keeping a bike in London comes with risk no matter where you put it, so expect that to be reflected in insurance etc. We can all tell you of stories of bikes being taken from ‘secure’ car parks, garages etc.
Even though outskirts of London may seem easy to get to … it can take over an hour to get from central to the m25 on some days so it may not be a happy trip to go out for a quick spin on the bike .

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to check them out. From looking at places, getting a Mew house with a garage I think is another option. Speaking to people who’s been doing the job before, the housing allowance is quite generous, so we shall see.
Well fella, just to be in Westminster it needs to be pretty generous… But then again, all the people who come from abroad in the company I work for live in Zone 1 so it wouldn’t surprise me.
Make the most of it although it will take you a good 40-60mins to get to decent roads (traffic dependant). Make sure you visit the Ace cafe at least once on a Friday evening (biker’s night). People go off it pretty quick but it’s still something to do, at least a few times.
You never said… what bike are you thinking of bringing over?
