reckon some scooter riders could spank it round these roundabouts faster than most of the knee down crew…lol…some of those fellas are damn good riders in the making!
even with a 150hp deficit haahahahahhaha
i’d pay to see a scooter go round the outside of an r1…make it happen!!
used to have friendly races while i lived in cyprus on little 50cc chappies and landies, a couple of local guys where always invited to the the track and one of em was a pro scooter racer! the things he could do on that scooter was fooking excellent.
even some of the young lads on peds nowadays are fooking brilliant little riders! just watch some of em at twist’n’go night at the ace!
i think most are just jealous of the control these younguns have got on their scooters! ok their knowledge of THE ROAD and riding isnt that great but they have got some good control.
i dont think easy riders post is aimed at the young lads/lasses though, more at the buisness type in suits/skirts with flash shoes on!
I’m 14 years on bikes and very rarely had close calls with anyone else on 2 wheels, but when it has happened it has always been a scooter rider. Usually kids who think that just because they can move quicker than cars through traffic that they are the quickest thing out there and they pull out right in front of you or undercut you in ridiculous places whilst you’re filtering.
There’s also a large proportion of scooter riders that are only on two wheels during the week to avoid the congestion charge and care nothing more for their scooters than that, or other bike riders for that matter, so I find it hard to class these as PROPER bikers.
It was obvious what easyrider was saying, and it’s easy to jump on someone for generalising so why bother? He has a point and I’m sure most people saw what it was, some of these particular scooter riders are often annoyng and show no comradery or repect to other bikers and you are just another obstacle in the road for them.
well I wish I could come acroos some of you scooter riders on here, the ones I come across r right pratts, in their suits and aprons holding every1 up. I HATE scooters, wud be good if the ones I came across had some of your manners.
I’ve taken to shouting “buy gloves” at ‘suits on scoots’ if they stop close enough and don’t have gloves on. Most people will put their hands down first if they come off even if nothing else hits the deck. It’s particularly funny to see their response if I’m not in my bike gear at the time
Where I live there are a load of kids on scooters and they are a pain - I think it’s the teenager pack response more than anything. Next year they’ll be the little sods in tarted up 106s and the like - so I wouldn’t class them as bikers in any way shape or form (and if they do what they did to me when I was in the car a little while ago the shape could be a messy blood covered one!!!)
I’m a biker, a cyclist, a car driver; used to ride a scooter, used to drive a white van, I’ve been a sales rep and so on. Everybody seems to think I’m an ok kind of guy despite all this.
I’ve got no probs with the original thread though, understand how it’s good to vent a little frustration at times.
That’s impressive why? It’d be like paying to watch a turd disappear down the bog hole quicker than a plastic bottle.
What the extra 150bhp has to do with it, well that just shows you up doesn’t it?
Agree with the above statement. It’s easy to make sweeping generalisations, it’s even less impressive to jump all over someone who does so. I mean, it’s not difficult is it. I’m sure there’s a one-legged female muslim ethnic white van scooterist out there who will p!ss on everyone’s chips.
