Scooter down at Holborn, police and ambulance in attendance. She was sitting up grimacing as her mini skirt, halter top and high heels had offered her very little protection as she binned it in the downpour this afternoon. Me thinks she will wise up and buy protective gear or sell the scooter. What do you think?
i reckon shell sell up cause its ‘too dangerous’ riding in the city
Should have given her BabyJ’s contact details - he could have sold her lots more kit. ![]()
I think Steve’s right on this one, there’s so many people who ride scooters but don’t know anything about them, or biking in general, give it a go and then if something happens, quit it straight away. It’s a shame. Hope the rider’s okay…
South Circular at Catford This morning CG125 Honda under a lorry. Fire brigade were lifting the lorry with an airbag to get the rider out. Didnt seem to be moving so dont know how he was.

She was OK, fell off on her own but looked a tad “pained” and a nice case of road rash to “once” nice legs and elbows!![]()
thats the trouble, when i sell a scooter i always sugest doing the cbt, and we always try and sell the protective clothing, what more can you do? such a shame, hope they are ok.![]()
Guess the trouble is you want to show them what road rash looks like but that could put them off buying the bike. I guess general education and common sense is all we can ask. I was hot as a very hot thing from Hotville in my leathers today but I will wear them because I know I may fall off (guess she thought she wouldnt), also just bought a water backpack so I can hydrate on the move. Fantastic buy and only £9.99.
Got a camelbak for the mountain biking I (used to) do. Mmm that lovely warm rubbery tasting water…
The irony is that the mate of mine who almost killed himself earlier this year on his 50cc scooter had said just days before “I’d kill myself on a big bike”
Three words… LACK OF TRAINING
DAS teaches us a lot about road awareness etc, but also imparts knowledge of how to protect ourselves not if but when we come off.
I guess it’s like smoking without a filter though ignorance rather than choice ![]()
