Lots of discussion on various scooter forums. They appear to work well. So well that most supplies have many months of back order. Givi are not he only ones to make them. On mainland Europe there are several manufacturers, including one that straps to your left forearm instead of to your bike.
yeah i had noticed they wernt in stock anywhere…
just cant stretch to £400 of water proof rider or zumo…
Do you know the name of the other suppliers? Also what make is the one that straps to the left forearm? Cheers for your help.
I’ve got a RAM Aquabox which I’m quite happy with. I’ve also got a more native cradle for my satnav that fits the same mount for sunny days.
It’s not cheap (~£40 for the box + £20ish for the fitting), and it’s quite bulky, but it’s quite versatile (I’ve got a usb lead in it, so my phone, satnav, mp3 player can be charged in it). There’s a picture of it on my bike with my TomTom one in it here.
I have been using one for review purposes called the So Easy Rider.
Seems all good!
Keep an eye on the front page for the review.
So Easy Rider is the one I think. It straps to the handlebars or plastics or can be strapped to your arm.
Yea, that’s what I’m reviewing.
Here’s the news item - http://londonbikers.com/news/10844/so-easy-rider-v3-new-motorcycle-satnav-accessory
The Givi S850 seems to back in supply, as I now have mine and I have heard other got theirs too.
Absolutely brilliant, and well worth the £40. The only tip I have to check the angle you mount it at, as the plastic can pick up a lot of reflections.
Also if you do not have a satnav already, choose carefully. Car satnavs do not seem to have audio output for the directions through bluetooth, they only channel mobile phones. So, make sure you get a unit with an earpiece output if you want to hear anything.
Llooks good and good to know back in stock now too.
Another chepaer alternative i was told about to zumo / tomtom rider etc is the Becker Crocodile…
But having trouble getting many reviews on it.
we fitted some becker bluetooth its in some of our cars, went wrong. Kinda put me off the name as it does…
