Exciting

Hmm, just slightly disappointed. I didn’t see all of the presentation, but I’m not sure it really surpasses the One X.
Also rather disappointed we have to wait three or four weeks for it’s release. I was hoping after they pulled out of MWC that they would have their own announcement and release the next week…
Why are you disappointed?
By all accounts the presentation vastly undersold the device (though I’ve not seen it).
I’m just glad they went Quad core and retained the external storage.
HTC One X looks superb (someone brought one into work today), but I like games on mobile and I bet the GPU performance of the SGSIII outperforms the One X.
I’m getting one.
Bit dissapointed too, nothing that really convinces me to flog the S2 and run out to buy it. Got just under a year on my contract anyway, might just wait till the end of the year to see if Ofcom get their act together over the 4g auction, and get one then, when the price should have dropped quite a bit.
If I had an SII then yeah I probably wouldn’t be…wow I’ve got to upgrade…but I’m still rocking an S (24 month contract) and knew I’d have to wait for this.
Can’t believe they made it bigger than the SII which is an enormous phone by comparison to everything else.
Great phone, but perhaps a little too large. Now the SIII is set to be even bigger.
Pockets are just not made for that phone.
You seen the Galaxy Note…That’s big
Its not actually that much bigger, the screen is much bigger, but they reduced the size of the bezel around the screen, so its only about 5mm wider and 10 mm longer and something like 0.1 mm thicker. Quite glad they did that as the S2 is about as big as my hands can go and still operate it easily 1 handed.
Kaos, you just need bigger pockets mate. To be honest, the SII isn’t big by todays standards (yes, they are different standards than even 18 months ago)
I’m slightly disappointed because the SII quite literally had me astonished (see my unboxing, now at 1.4 mill views ) and the SIII doesn’t look like it can have that effect. It doesn’t look by any means to be that much better than the One X. I don’t play games, so GPU doesn’t matter. There seems to be a lot of gimmicks in TouchWiz, I’m more of a vanilla Android kinda guy.
I guess I was basically hoping for -
12MP camera, with dedicated button
at least 1.5 Quad Core (although this really doesn’t matter)
A more imaginative design (I quite like their ‘lip’ on the back)
A quicker release after announcement
Pleasing to see the Samsung S series continues.
They are fabulous phones but I can’t really find any attraction of the SIII over the SII. Screen of the SII is plenty big.
The Voice function does not appeal to me. I wish they made it possible to disable so that Voice talk does not come on when the big home button is pressed. I hate the Voice function. It’s slow. Wastes energy. Never understands my spoken English too.
Well I think theyve done an amazing job with some of the decisions.
Replaceable battery so i can have 2 (or 3!) with me is a total HTC killer for me.
The more sensors the better. Its all down to software after that. Wonder if it has a barometer or thermometer…?
A dedicated camera button would be very useful. Esp if you can use it to take snaps from the phone being locked/asleep.
The power to drive games is great. I dont play games, but this usually pushers performance boundaries so all good - depending on battery consumption…
Big 4.8" screen 720p x 1280 - excellent.
1gb ram + up to 64gb internal storage + 64gb external sd seriously about time lol
My SGS contract has been finished for a couple of months now. I think I’m glad I waited for SGS3.
Dont fancy the design so much. But I’m a function guy.
and apparently you also get 2 years 50gb dropbox storage included, so probably no need to even buy a memory card, though if you preorder in some places you get free 32gb card and car charger included
I love my s2 and maybe when its time to upgrade i will get me one of those but for now the s2 does exactly what it says on the box
I have recently just got a galaxy ace pretty budget intro smart phone, it was just as a temp as my iphone broke.
since using it I have to say they seem like pretty good phone and have been impressed at what you can do with them even through its just an entry level phone.
The s3 seems like a good phone and im considering to use my upgrade and getting one of them, I was holding out to see what the s3 and the next iphone have to offer but i my scrap that idea.
and the galaxy note if f**king huge… my jaw dropped when I saw that for the 1st time.
Mine finishes in 3 months so I’ll be upgrading too. I’m also finished with Dodofone (after 14 years…good riddance).
