Sad Day

Well been a bit of an emotional day at work, after over seven years I have been made redundant and today has been my last day. Had a good curry for lunch and got a nice surprise a large card and quite a lot of Hein Gericke vouchers. Which is perfect as I need some new boots. I have to say that I will miss the people but not necessarily the company have a lot of fond memories.:crying:

Will be stopping at the Ace for a cuppa on the way home this evening, so if anyone wants to stop by I should be there from around 17:45.

did you find another job yet or are you a lady of leisure for the time being?

Really sorry to hear this but at least you wont have to use the stupid company phone anymore! :D;):stuck_out_tongue:

mate, come along to the speedway tonight!

I’m sure you’ll find something or doing something alot more interesting in the future.

After my redundancy I too a bit of a holiday. Works a treat! Took me 4 1/2 years to get back though.

 lol!!!

Sorry it’s been so emotional but it will be worth it, fresh start and all that! This is now a really exciting time for you

redundancy is great - really gives you some space to do your own thing and get stuck into something new! best of luck to you! i cant come to the caff tonight but have one on me

As one door closes, another one opens.

Take a deep breath and look to the future mate.

It’s Bright:)

It’s Orange:w00t:

It’s Garlic Bread:w00t:

I didn`t know McDonalds laid people off like that.:stuck_out_tongue:

Kev, I’ve been made redundant twice now, one company asked me back a week later but I’d already found something better. On both occasions it’s meant a better job  You might be pleasantly surprised by what turns up

you still looked happy tonight mate, keep those sprits up

come for a rideout lunchtime blow the cobwebs away

Know how you feel buddy!

Had it twice in the last 6 months!

Ride safe

Thanks for all the support peeps, had a great time at the Ace last night. Quite a lot of peeps there: Andyp, Chris, Tugs, M9 Mike, Peter, Ryan and others. Quite a laugh actually.

Planning on taking a little break from the daily grind, catch up on some reading, a couple of long weekends away. Some job hunting. So for the time being I will be a Lady of Leisure as Viagra pointed out.

Today is for me, tomorrow I shall catch up on all the emails that I have outstanding work has kept me extremely busy right up to the end.

Steve, PM sent. Shall be popping out shortly, but send me a txt for a meet point.

Kevsta

Happened to me 1 week before xmas. Found a job 2 days later and took January off. Sometimes it can be a blessing in disguise.

Chin up, and happy hunting.

ps. get your CV sorted before you do the fun stuff, then you can relax a bit better.
pps. McD’s are really strict on CVs these days, so NO lying!

Whats your background and career direction Kevsta ? I recruit a lot so if you want some tips and help on the CV front drop me a line

(actually i’m recruiting for two posts now, is e-commerce content your bag ?)

I hope you enjoyed your afternoon Kev.

Wasn’t too sad was it?

Sorry to hear that, Kevsta. And glad to see that you’re in good spirits.

Promise to buy you a big cup of char’ next time you’re at the Ace.

Definitely, had a lot of fun, made a lot of mistakes but nothing catastrophic. Learnt a huge amount, and next time probably won’t be spending as much time nearly riding into Kirsty’s bum. Shame
