I resisted taking a pic because I think we would have got into a lot of trouble, but this was at the track on Sunday as they were setting it all up and it did look very nice!
My dad bought a BMW K1200S from a well known BMW dealer up north. He has got an invite to ride one of these this december on a track.
Bets… Place your bets! Who thinks he will bin it within 5 laps? I reckon he will love the power and take it easy but then his 8 year old mindset will kick in and he will go tearing into a corner a bit too fast and he will lock the front tyre and go off the track. Does this one come with the suspension setup that allows it to brake heavily even in the corners?
Went down to park lane last thursday and booked a test ride, the chap said they will be registering the bike in the new year so from the fourth of jan i should get a call to arrange a date and hopefully its all its made out to be and i can get one
They have done their homework here not to mention the amount of testing that the bike has gone through. Managed to have a sneak peak a couple of weeks ago and talk to some ppl. It seems to be ticking all the boxes.
Attnetion to detail is brilliant, and the styling is great. Some say the lights at the front throw off the looks, i dont think so. More reasons to it than ppl realise. If you get a chance go have a proper look at one or ese get a test ride.
I don’t think you will find anyone actually has one yet as they are not registering any till 2010 for some reason…
Spoke to a local dealer and they are not registering their demo till the new year and they already have 16 orders from current BMW owners, none from outside the brand yet.
It looks like my take on their power claims were wrong!

‘Say hello to the most powerful production bike in the world’
BiKE lays its hands on the first BMW S1000RR in the country and puts it through its first ever dyno run. Initially there’s disbelief, then it dawns - here’s the moment that everything changed.
As the redlined screams of a 1000cc inline four fade into a damp, mid-winter night, the number on a grubby computer monitor in a small, dimly-lit dyno room in the middle of nowhere bears the testament to the birth of a new era in sportsbikes.
The computer display shows the 183.7bhp at 13,200rpm. I’ll say that again: 183.7 brake horsepower. Mein Gott.
Fingers poke at the screen, collective jaws hit the floor. Grown men who should be above this sort of thing grin like naughty schoolboys.
This is a huge number. It towers over the Aprillia’s RSV4 Factory and Ducati’s 1198S by more than 30bhp. It’s 18bhp up on the ZX10R, Japan’s most powerful litre sportsbike. And it’s 3.7bhp better than Suzuki Hayabusa, previously the most potent stock engine BiKE has ever tested. And all this from an engine with only 400 miles on its bores, so a few more bhp may emerge as it loosens up.
As welcomes go, it doesn’t get much better than this. Sportsbike UK, say hello to the most powerful production bike in the world, the BMW S1000RR .
Wowza. :o

I can’t see the point of owning a bike like that without using it on track - sadly in the end that means a tarmac / fairing interface.
Even if you consider the likely option that the bike has been blue printed, those dyno results are impressive. I wonder if anyone will use one in British superstock next year?
