If for some reason England win the World Cup again after four years of cack, it would be a travesty. We kicked our way to the last world cup and might end up lucking it again even though the saffas beat us 36-0 in the group stage.

As a Kiwi who went out to Germany for the football to follow England I have to say that 2nd to none I can not stand the English rugby followers. It’s not the players at all as they play a style of rugby that wins games. Hard to face that fact being a Kiwi but its the facts of the world cup that matter!
I want England to win (child and wife are English) this weekend and will have my England football top on at the pub. But if I get stuck next to one of those toff twit follwers at the pub I’m going to give to him with botgh barrels

Worse than that are the bandwagon jumpers. Overheard two girls at work yesterday talking about the Argies vs SA and the entire conversation was about how they wanted the Argies to win as they had some really hot players.
I’m as patriotic as the next guy but I really don’t like the kick to touch approach of Northern hemisphere teams rather than the typically flowing passing play of the backs typical of Southern hemisphere teams. It seems cynical but there is no denying it can grind out a result.
Maybe, but then there are some football supporters that are really irritating as well, in the same way even some bikers are…its just life, good and bad, dont paint with the same brush, etc, etc…anyways enjoy the game, it should be a stonker!!
Some girls will always do that, but then again, have you ever been fascinated by womens beach volleyball during the Olympics.??? (i know I have…:w00t:)
I have to agree that the kick to touch play was frustrating against the French, but they were much better than us with flowing play, so we had to adjust to win. Good tactics I say. Against Austrialia we used our forwards much better, turning the ball and flowing (although not purely back line) rubgy was in evidence I believe. Hoepfully against SA we can do a combination of both, and ensure that we get the tackles in and keep the discipline…Come On England!!!
Slightly off topic but can someone tell me what woot means on postings. Seen it from time to time and never know what it means. I know about LOL and PMSL etc just not woot…

Every sport has its annoying followers, football supporters annoy the hell out of me personally, so I rarely watch important football games in pubs.
England will have to improve their game in every way to beat the boks, I think it’ll be an awesome game, GO ENGLAND!
