Ron Haslam Race School?

Was thinking of doing this school as a first experience on track…mainly cos i get to use their bikes and not mine. So just wanted to find out if there is anyone that may have looked into it and thought they would be interested in going on this???

Alright mate…How’s the SV going?

Ron Haslam school is a great day out.

LB sent me to do a review last year.

Read it here

As a total track noob I did it too. Great fun. Awsome. Took very little away from it. But will do it again after a few track more days. Think I’ll be able to take away much more.

So plan to do it twice!

SV’s going really well Afro  still got a lot to learn though!

One of the first things I did was read your review and it was encouraging too!

Only want to do Ron Haslams school to experience track riding without having to use my bike.

I’m already booked up now - end of May!, got it for £250 instead of £279 so I’m well chuffed

twice?? :w00t:

have you tried California Superbike School? Its what I’d like to go on next and hopefully learn stuff about cornering from them

yeah CSS is on the cards. But with the haslam school if your lucky you can get 1-to-1 tuition which is great … so long as you have questions to ask

I spoke with a mate today, he did RH yesterday, says it was brill! Everyone I have spoken with about it says the same…

Bit of a bump, but having spoken to someone at work that’s doing this on June 5th and that work will subsidize it to the tune of 50%, I think I’m going to book myself in too!

How long is the training? On the website I can’t see any timings, but I think it says it’s a half day?

Anyone else done it recently?

Hmmm I was thinking of doing the premiere fireblade course this year… thanks for reminding me.

I thought Fireblade was the ‘Elite’ course?

Yes Elite! Thanks. I’d rather sh!t myself on someones else’s thou first!

So, just booked myself in, June 5th - afternoon session (Premier) I think she said Group 6 if anyone wanted to join me

An interesting afternoon… I kept it rubber side down at least  It was a shame it was a little wet, it rather spoilt the second session and halted progression. It dried a little for the third and let me build a bit of confidence again. I was definintely moving about on the seat better near the end.

I would recommend it, but at the same time, I didn’t like having to try ride at someone else’s pace. In the first couple of session, I made the mistake of pushing too hard to catch up if I was at the back and had a bad corner, almost got myself in trouble at a couple of corners. The instructor did do a good job of pacing us mind you.

I bet if you spent £289 on petrol and practised down country roads you would of eventually learnt how to shift across the seat :Whistling:

Yeah, but probably not the proper/better way…

The rain was annoying, AndyCr15 - thankfully I managed to avoid it. Was booked on Premier for Group 4 (the 11am start), and we finished our 3rd session around 5 minutes before the rain started!

First time I’ve been on a track, and enjoyed it a lot. Had the 2-1 ratio for the first 2 sessions, and got lucky for the 3rd session with a 1-1. Was really zipping it round the corners, and leaning way over.

Would definately recommend this to others.

Something that they told me as well - for the Elite course, you’re able to request the 600CBRR’s, which means that you effectively get 3 hours track time on them with a 1-1 ratio. As I’m not confident enough to fling a Fireblade round the track (no experience yet with machines that powerful), it’ll mean I’m able to skill up for the 600’s.
