Roadside Repairs

Hey,

I just rode back up north (I’m back down in your fair city next week though :-D)… every time I ride a long way, my bike breaks down, granted it’s old and crap… but how else is a kid supposed to learn

Long story short… fuel tap was dodgy, so I couldn’t switch to RES… no fuel, and 15 miles to the next services… anndddd didn’t have my breakdown number on me… I could see fuel sloshing round the tank, and using my new toolkit… I set about swapping my fuel lines over right there at the side of a motorway, so ‘on’ was really RES, and ‘RES’ was just… on…anyyhoooyyy

So that was my story of an extensive roadside repair…took me about 15 mins, and cost me nothiung but a couple of quid in spilt fuel, a smelly flamable tee shirt ( i usually have a spare tee on me) annd my effort…

What’s the most extensive bike-hack you guys have ever had to do ?..

i got lost down a single track road it was impossible to do a u turn so i took off my handle bars and my seat and swapped em over and rode back out the way i came…

i tried to kick start my bike for half an hour once…bluddy thing would not turn over…

then i found this little red button…

did it all for me…woolaaa!!!

not again smiled.

We’ve all done that, so that’s a given.

In the days of riding a moped, I’ve stripped down the cylinder head and carburettor, reassembled and ridden away. Horrible thing it was. On my current bike, carb strip down and clean. Very basic tools required, lots of swearing and far too much patience!

i got locked in a shed once with just a squeagy bottle and some sticky back paper and some rubber bands and rode through the door on my made up motorbike…honest…then sold the plans to suzuki…they then made a HIGH powered m/cycle called the RF400…and thats all folks…

well if it keeps on breaking down get another bike
