For those of you who have not seen me in the last 24hrs, I trashed the bike yesterday…
My baby is now in the back garden, with the front fairing completely smashed in! The good news is that I’m ok, and the bike damage is only cosmetic. And now, ever the positive person that I am, I’ve decided to streetfighter it!:w00t:
Before people start to go along the usual "riding too fast/ like a lunatic etc… It was the fault of nobody but the idiot who had spilt diesel on the road! I was riding down Bayswater Road, doing about 25-30mph (in heavy traffic). The wagon in front of me broke hard, I had plenty of room for manoeuvre and a good stopping area etc… I eased on the brakes, and the front end just tucked in! And so, I found myself skidding along the road next to my bike, and watched it slam into the back of a lorry! :pinch: Looked at the road surface a little later and noticed the little patches of diesel coming out in the rain!
The funny thing is, I vividly remember thinking to myself “Keep your head off the floor, it’s a £400 lid!” :w00t:
And so, here is the damage…
AND HERE’S WHT I HIT!..
AND THE FINAL PRODUCT…
Am currently using the other bike, which I’m buying off a friend of mine anyway So, all’s not bad! :w00t:
Lastly, many thanks to all the people who stopped to see that I was ok, and the truck driver for helping me get the bike off the road. It’s restored my faith in humanity!
See you all at the BMM, and watch this space for updates on the new project that this bike has become…
When you told me last night at the Ace, I couldn’t believe it! I REALLY think you should lock yourself away for a month and have no contact with the outside world until this unlucky period has passed.
