People in cages no longer, give any respect to bike’s. To the extent that a car will cut through a group of bikes and not even think twice about it.
I’m old enough to remember, when cars would give us a wide berth and people in in the pubs. If a group of bikers walked in, people would sit away from you.
Have bikers become too nice and is that the reason we are invisible to everyone now?
Just seen two bikers down on A406 heading heading west bound…makes me cross
I have a cage as well as a bike, I can’t speak for everyone but I move out of the way for bikes, I hate having bikes behind or to the side of me.
Being a biker myself I know how quickly we change our mind when we filter, or even if there is something hazardous on the road that a caver wouldn’t even think of.
Speak for yourself Pinhead, we would prefer that people didn’t run away when we walked into a pub and indeed try to make sure that “ordinary” members of the public are treated pleasantly and not inconvenienced in such circumstances so that the old image of scary bikers rampaging through places is a thing of the past.

I think that your point about rampaging bikers , I don’t think I said anything about that happening must be something you picked up when you trained in Hendon

road presence is there for the taking pinhead, ride defensively and own the road. bikers down make me cross too,and only remind me the importance of taking the space i am due an ensuring those around me know of my wherabouts and intentions.
ps, no one on this thread so far has trained at Hendon, as far as i know

P.S. I get the feeling from the earlier post and the comment about the pubs that you want people to fear you because you are a biker, not respect you. It sounds juvenile to me but whatever…
I’m giving the road some rubber for Christmas this year.

I take on board what you are saying , and do try to ride defensively but to have a car move over lanes so you end being pushed in to the kerb

But I do think you have misunderstood my post I was just saying that car drivers used to take more notice of bikers
I am always amazed at how Mr & Mrs Cager are so thoughtful with bikes ( compared with say, 20 years ago) when filtering. There was a time when people ignored you trying to filter but the number of times people make an effort to pull over to give you a bigger gap always pleasantly surprises me.
Of course aggressive tossers will always exist and are probably still out there in the same numbers.
But the average driver seems to be much,much better and more bike aware.

I have to agree with Triang, I am always surprised how thoughtful most drivers are, ok so you get the occasional tw@t but the same can be said for bikers! I always move out the way for bikes but purely because I don’t like having them behind me.
p.s. Think your ipad might be broken then because mine doesn’t do that!
