I am planning to ride my bike from London to Iceland via Scotland, Orkney Islands, Shetland Islands and the Faroe Islands for a week and a bit. There is also a gathering of bikers from Shetland who are organising a ride out for the 27th Sat and will be going to Faroe at the same time. I am just looking at the price of ferry tickets (lots of overnight ferry sleeping) and it looks like it would be £200-£300.
Does anyone fancy joining me? Would like to meet up first to ensure compatibility as it is my only holiday this year and don’t want to spoil it.
Yes I am riding to France tomorrow. After talking to a friend I think that maybe I will only go as far as the Faroe Islands as it would only be two afternoons in Faroe and less than two days in Iceland. But I am still deciding.
I think Iceland is a place best left for a dedicated visit. I spent quite a while there one year, so give me a shout if I can help with any info, pending what you decide.
