Red Route Jeans

I have to admit… I haven’t seen anything specific on their website for ladies sizes, but like Numpty says above… give 'em a call and see what they say - could be they’ll start making them all cause of you :o)

Thanks and nice to meet you last night

Likewise :o)

I went to a shop (George White) to try some jeans, and the Red Routes looked a little shoddy in terms of build quality and the cut was also not that great.

I then went to try some Draggins (Urban Rider), and the build quality was great - the cut was also a lot better, less like 90s era cargo pants and more like a proper pair of trousers

Definitely getting a pair once I’ve got the rest of my gear sorted out (the waterproof pants need to come first

I have a pair of Hood jeans and can honestly say they are fantastic! Someone else described thm perfectly earlier - A full kevlar short,( both front and back, unlike the draggins) with jean legs at the bottom!

Really good cut, they feel like they are bomb proof and i feel comfortable riding on the motorway with these unlike a pair of levis!

The bewst bit is they are UK made (Norfolk i think?) and atre mor than happy to chat to you on the phone about any questions or queries…

Shewoolf, Try the mens, they have a slightly different cut, and they go over the boots. I have both women’s and men’s draggin jeans, both fit, but are both different fits if you know what I mean

Thanks for the link to Hood Jeans. I just got the review I needed, very helpful on the phone, worth a telephone order rather than online so they can talk you through the different ones. Mine were in stock so will be here next week. I am riding down to the Black Forest early/mid June so will report back after that with how I got on with them.

Peter

i have the draggin’ traffic jeans and find the lining can be uncomfortable on longer journeys…that might have been fixed in latest draggin’ models or not an issue in the hoods but worth a thought if you are off for a long trip

EDZ wind proof trooser liner may be a solution

hi

Im revitalising this thread as Ive just bought a pair of the red route jeans and Im generally quite pleased with them - so wondering if theres been some improvement in the product since this thread commenced.

I looked at the Draggin ones also - but to be honest couldnt see a whol lot of difference bewteen the two.

Plus I got mine at the bargain price of £69 through my local bike dealer as an ebay sale

Yeh, I had draggins, then most recently red routes and I’ve not had a problem with them- infinity chucked in some knee armour with them and they’ve done well for me for a year or so. Only around town though- textiles/ leathers for when I’m on the motorway…

my draggins lasted 1 year before holes started to appear - got some red routes and will be interested to see how long they last after seeing this thread

ive had my red root for 1 1/2 now and been wearing them every weekday (except cold winter days) and have been fine…

It must be down to how often you wear them I guess, my Draggins (with Knox knee armour) are over two years old and still going strong, but I tend to wear them only when I know its going to be more or less a dry day so maybe only 50% of the time.

I’ve got two pairs of camo draggin jeans, mainly wearing one pair and they’ve been fine. I don’t use the crappy foam shin protectors. I opted to spend the £20 towards Dainese knee shin protectors that velcro on and the net protective shorts which do the trick. I looked at Red Routes at Doble and I thought they looked crap quality, guess this posting confirms it.

The quality of the Draggin Jeans is good but I might give Hood a go when I eventually get through the two pairs of Draggin’s I’ve got. I actually wanted to buy some of the Kevlar so the wife could stitch in the extra protection for some of the unprotected areas. Anybody know where I can get it?
