Hi All
This is a new one on me
whilst coming home in rush hour the other night I was on scrubbs lane going north as I got to the lights at the A40 I filtered round the traffic got to the front and stopped then the red light camera flashed then flashed again 2 seconds later , admittedly I was in front of the whilte line
Im hoping they see the photos and realise I was stopped but who knows
anyone had this happen to them ?
Mikey
The camera is triggered by a moving vehicle entering the magnetic field created by loops of wire set in the road surface. The camera should not be triggered unless a vehicle has passed significantly over the white line over a second after the lights go red. I have never heard of a motorcycle triggering the lights as they are usually bellow the sensitivity of the system.
If you’re in the same place in both pictures then you should be fine, that’s the point of having 2 isn’t it?
That’s very strange… A few weeks ago I was stopped at those lights and a car came sailing past me in the next lane, straight through the red lights
The camera didn’t go off which I thought was rather odd seeing as the driver had just blatantly gone through on red…
Could be calibrated wrong? I doubt you’ll get done for crossing the white line…
Crossing the white line after the light is red is an absolute offence, but if you have not moved in the pictures it would be difficult to prove it was you that set off the camera.
If you didn’t move then they can’t show that you crossed the line on red - you may have been stopped there when the lights changed (which I presume you did)
I set one off before.
I pulled over because I needed my reserve tank on so I mounted the pavement.
I turned the RES switch over and then put my bike back onto the road just after a crossing with a green man. When I took off I got a single flash from the camera.
Nothing ever came of it.
oh i admit i crossed the line illegaly but oh can i get away with it …
