Rear shock is fecked

So my compression screw clicks in one direction (hard) but doesn’t click in the other, although I think it’s still working.

My rebound screw is completely seized.

I have no clue what the settings are as the compression screw just turns and turns!

I’m sure my bike is loosing bhp too (although maybe I’m just so used to it).

I still love the bike so don’t want to sell or upgrade, also I don’t want to spunk £500 on a new shock as the bikes only worth £2-2500 anyway.

I can’t be arsed to rebuild the shock (and it’s standard so probably not worth doing).

Any advice would be appreciated. I’ve never messed with suspension before. It still rides fine so thinking and as im really only commuting I’ll just put up with the current settings (getting chicken strips again from the town riding).

Does it feel a bit like a pogo stick? Might be lack of oil.

As in it doesn't change from soft to hard. No pogo-ing just no longer adjustable in either Compression or Rebound.

There’s an 06 shock up for grabs on Flea-bay for £120, maybe I should just get that and head down the OCM…

upgrade the shock put a 636 C1H or later ZX6R 07/08 P7F P8F… i had the P8F in my 636 was so much better and wont break the bank either 

as the b1h shock generally never aged well…

Thanks dude… Will keep an eye on flea bay. Might hold out for an 07/08 as its tried and tested :wink:

this one is cheaper… i would make a offer on it to save yourself some money

There looks like about an inch difference in ride height. Do you notice?

I’m assuming its stable?

I never did tbh but am 6.1
And yer I had it on stunt bike never had a issue
You could always try it and if don’t like it just resell…
It’s just a newer shock then b1h and better in condition usually as the 07/08 not massively popular

A longer rear shock will make the bike turn in quicker.

Not with me on board! It will cause the front to tuck in my hands!

I have a follow up question if you don’t mind!?

Do you remember if the shock linkages are the same length or shall I take everything off and just use the shock?

If the links are the same I’ll use the newer ones. Was going to paint the spring yellow but just can’t be arsed!
