october 06 (while i still owned a car), in anticipation of me eventually buying a bike, i put down an application for a garage. take note at this point they only allow u to apply for one IF u can show proof of owning a car…(or so i have been led to believe). 5 weeks pass and im not getting any kind of Correspondence yet…so i call up and ask if they have any news for me…i was told that ill get a call back about it or a letter to at least tell me where i am on the list…
so we’re in feburary now, still nothing. so i give them a call to ask whats going on…was bounced between no less than 7 different departments and various extensions that mean nothing…to be told that they dont have my details on system! i was then asked if i have a photocopy of the form i filled in…problem being that i definently was not given a photocopy when i handed it in…and its not even a case of maybe ive misplaced it or i forgot…im 110% sure that i wasnt given a copy of this form. so now…coz i dont have a car anymore, im not going to be able to apply again till god knows when…putting back my buying a bike by like a million months…
Thank You Southwark Council…youve crushed a young mans dreams! well…maybe not crushed them…but taken a lonng stinky **** all over them…
I’ve had it up to here with council policies and screw ups - i finally flipped when i was told that I would have to get a parking permit to be able to park outside the house after 8:30am - trouble is - their parking office opens at 9am.I dont mind paying, and yes, it was only for half an hour - what really really really pisses me off is when there’s no other alternative and your individual circumstances arent taken into consideration or when things like opening hours of THEIR OWN offices.
Still - I have a bike now again and im a law unto myself - I yield to no-one!!! (Oh yeah - its Tower Hamlets by the way - the useless bunch of f**kwits)
Shows the incompetence and inefficiency that ruins ours councils. They waste money on consultants to get useless info, rather than spending time on getting procedures efficient.
But I always remember to photocopy every form that I ever send away, and usually scan it and keep in on my computer as well. I trust noone when it comes to receiving forms unless I hand it to the person myself.
u learn from ur mistake they say…im glad it happned with this and not something even more important! next time ill ask for a phototcopy and im gonna to video myself handing it over! does anyone rent agaarges around the se area…cheapest price i found were about like 100 pounds a week :w00t:
I’ve been on the Lewisham council garage list for ages, so bit the bullet and have rented something private.
I used these guys: http://www.lockupgarages.co.uk/ and found something around the corner for £14/month. As my car is a mini, it’s gonna fit my car, scoot and bike
We waited over 8 yrs for a garage from dagenham council…ended up getting one bout half mile away…and they keep putting the rent up on it every year !!! and what is it with all these parking ticket machines going up in the council car parks now? or even when you go to some supermarkets? why do we have to pay to park to go IN and spend our money buying essentials, like food, to survive on?..and to pay to go and pay your council tax or whatever …what is it with these money grabbing bar stewards? anyway they can they will fleece us…even the dustman only take a certain amount of rubbish bags nowdays…so if youve gone a bag over they just leave it in your garden !! PLUS if you dont pay em a xmas bonus, they get really pissed at you…but i thought that was their job anyway !! sorry, ranting on a bit there, but you just got me thinking !!
