Top marks to the girl on the 50cc scooter who tried to undertake me at speed as I was filtering along the Embankment this morning… NOT!! Short of causing an accident i’m not quite sure what you were hoping to gain. R1 versus 50cc? Bit of a no brainer really!
Don’t these people know anything…
You should never mess with a girl on an R1!!
Not an attack on all-scooter drivers, as we all know bad motorcycle riders, but I really hate getting ‘buzzed’ by these annoying things by being undertaken by them…happens a lot, and I agree with you PP…they are only going to get caught up again at the next lights…
Doncha just hate being held up by slower riders that don’t keep left
Shurrup you I cant help being slow !! ![]()
Had this the other day coming along the Embankment…Scooter guy with irritating open exhaust tailing me and sticking in my blindspot.
I don’t get fazed often by other road users, and was just expecting him to undertake as is allowed by Scooter riders
He didn’t…It was like a mosquito that keeps bussing around your head.
Sorry officer, but it was better for me to red line first gear on a clear stretch than to get off the bike and drop kick Scooter guy
Thanks guys! Love your response Afro, lol! I just wanted to add that I absolutely do not mean to tar all scooter riders with the same brush! I even ride one myself sometime!
That’s OK, we know what you mean, as for them R1 riders now that’s a different story!! lol ![]()
glad to see you say tried to pass you, otherwise i would have to take you out of the gang
I appreciate that this thread is not an attack on all scooter riders, but would like to point out that it is not just scooters who are guilty of all the things being complained of here.
When I rode a 50cc machine my main gripe was other powered two wheelers of all types who seemed to think it OK to undertakem me at speed, and often with millimetres to spare. It was this constant harassment that directly lead to my accident which left me with an arm full of metal for the rest of my life as I tried to anticipate what a Ducati approaching me at speed from behind was planning to do.
Have to agree with both points…unfortunately you are dealing with the person riding, some people are just poor whatever they ride…
I rode a scooter into London for 2 years and they were probably 2 of my worse years of riding.
You get grief from other scooters, car drivers who think you’re on a 50 and bike riders who think you’re a nuisance because you have no experience…can’t have riding a scooter…
I thought it was an attack on all R1 riders  ![]()
