R1 or GSXR 1000 K1

Getting a bit bored of the CBR 600 and thinking of taking the step up to a thou… Narrowed the choice down to a 2000 model R1 or a GSXR 1000 K1.

Any advice on which I should be going for or any other suggestions for that matter (also been contemplating a Mille or a Daytona for around the same price).

Also at 5"10 am I gonna have any comfort issues with the R1 as it looks a lot taller than the CBR that i’m used to and ZX6R before that!

Any advice would be welcome… Cheers J

Neither mate go for a Gixer 750, I have a K71000 and wish I had got another 750

Been looking at a GSXR750 too but they seem to be a lot more expensive than the thous…

Gixer Gixer Gixer 750 do it do it

Long term cheaper as they do not eat tyres and sprockets plus insurance

1000 is far too much for the road and track, 750 is best all round bike far more useable

DO IT

750 GSXR mate for the road is the best choice!!!

I’m on my second 750 now. :stuck_out_tongue:

(singing) do it do it do it

I wholeheartedly agree, you know it makes sense!!

Had a Gix 750 K4 and a cracking bike no doubt, but you do get very very good value from early Gix thou’s or R1s. Currently on a '99 R1 day to day and while ultimately compromised as a road tool cos of its waywardness - the torque is wicked (different league to a 750) and its always exciting to ride!

definatly go with the gixer 750 it is definatly a better bike and cheaper to run in the long run. i have a 750 and its worth every penny:w00t:

Its all about the power, yes a 750 is a great bike but the 1000cc is where its at. Much better bike so get yourself the K1/K2 Gixer, you will not be disappointed.

get the gixer i had the new r1 and found it top heavy and to tall im 5’10 dont know about a 2001 model never been on one ive down sized to a gxr600k6 much more fun also got an srad 750 for the track/road the best 600 i ever owned was a zk3 gxr in corona colours,

that was untill i got this one:D

Dude, don’t listen to a word here, peeps with gixxer 750 will say its best thing since sliced bread, peeps with 1000 will say theirs is. Best thing to do is try them all out yourself then decide. Me, I ride a 08 R1 and it does what I need it to do, doesn’t feel top heavy, too tall (I’m 5,6) or anything to me. But its the bike I wanted after trying others. Go on, try 'em all out mate. Defo go for a litre bike though as anything less is a girls bike  lolol.
