R&G Racing - Top blokes!

After my Rockingham highside I emailed the various equipment manufacturers whose kit was tested in the accident, namely Arai, Dainese, Alpinestars and R&G.

R&G were the only company who responded, thanking me for the video (which I sent them on DVD after) and the pictures. They said they owed me a favour so I mentioned that I needed to replace the damaged kit…

This morning one set of crash bungs and one set of swingarm protectors arrived - free of charge (£74 worth). Thanks very much!

That’s pretty cool! It’s reassuring that in this day of mass commercialism, there’s companies out there that look after their customers and try to keep their loyalty.

Yep! I got an email back from Arai today which was more in line with what I had expected. Nothing ventured, nothing gained though eh!

“Thank you for your contact regarding Arai helmets.
I am sorry to hear that you had an accident , but I am glad that you are o.k.
“Arai helmet there is a difference” is an Arai brand statement that will now have more meaning for yourself and your friends, it is not all about colours, gimmicks etc. First and foremost Arai helmets WORK safety comes first, and there is a difference in the construction of the inner and outer shells compared to other helmet brands, of which you now have first hand experience.
As we have a heavy involvement with racing we already have a massive collection of damaged helmets and stories to support them, which we use to train and educate our dealer network in order to provide you our customer with more information about our products.
Thanks again for the info, I hope that you will be replacing your damaged helmet with another quality Arai helmet. Safe riding.”

Free gear is good, well done for getting it.

Kind of sounds like a bog standard letter from Arai but at least they did respond.
