i seem to recall seeing advertised a puncture repair kit that didnt come with those little gas canisters.
instead it had a hose that connected to the engine (??) and that pumped air into the tyre…
anyone know what i mean?

Holts Tyre Weld.
Doesnt that then goo up for want of a better word the insides of the tyre ?
Re reading what you said, isn’t that just an electric pump?
no, if i remember correctly you unpluged a sparkplug(?) and used your engine to inflate the tyre? :ermm:

That doesn’t sound like a great idea. All that petrol on the inside of the tyre and exposed to the alloy of the wheel.
That doesn’t sound like a good idea at all!
http://www.derek.com.au/tyregauges.html and scroll down a bit
Bloody hell! you have to remove one of your spark plugs, that take me a good 1hr:D
found it!!
thanks to all your help
its actually from venhill
“An engine pump system, giving virtualy unlimited air supply, as long as you can turn over the engine. Complete with patches for tube repair, and reliable plugs for tubless tyres. Adaptors included for most spark plug sizes and a 1.8m hose to reach either front or rear tyre.”
What does it connect to on the engine ? doesnt look like a spark plug connection ?

It does if it is an old V8.
That is actually quite ingenious.
from what i read you take the spurk plug out and connect the hose in its place.
agreed that it may take a long time for sports bike - but for nakeds its a good idea
lordy! that, so I would have to remove my petrol tank to plug this in… Anyone else see the major floor in this plan for me!!

Even with nakeds it could take time. The only bikes I can see this being helpful is BMW boxsters and Moto Guzzis.
I just carry a 12v mini compressor that I store under the seat. But then I’ve got a maxi scooter so I have a 12v outlet and the space to carry to carry all the necessary kit.
