Wow they are on a roll with this now, Lambeth are proposing parking charges based on emissions.
We’ve had it for years in Camden on Residents’ Permits.
Has it not been in place in Lambeth for years?
We had a consultation in my bit of Streatham about bringing in residents parking permits & emissions based fees was part of that. It never went ahead, but it must have been at least 5 years sgo.
A few years back, I went to a council meeting about such charges, and understandably I was not appreciated when I pointed out that parked vehicles do not contribute to emissions in my world. Parking for 12 or 1 hour would not impact air quality or noise. It showed it to be a cash cow and for popular politics.

are they proposing to start charging bikes?
It appears that they are applying a surcharge for diesels and a % cost increase based on emissions so on that basis it wouldn’t affect motorbikes that are already free.
