Just picked up my bike from the Yamaha Service Centre in Putney and must praise them.
It was a bit an awkward situation because it was warantee work to be done, and it had been “booked in” by the previous owner, who had had the bike serviced there, but didn’t buy it there
(he got well p***ed of with Metropolis, where he bought the bike and swore to never go there again, they’ve lost out on the sale of the 2 ducatis he’s bought since).
The work was pretty extensive. Something with the gear box and the ignition needed replacing (which means the immobiliser etc need to be sorted out). All in all a lot of work. I’ve never spent a penny in there, but yet, they turned it around in the time they said they would, and were really friendly when I picked it up, explaining what they’d done, what I should look out for, and generally had a nice chat about the bike.
So even though it’s out of my way, I know where I’ll be going back!
