I’v just had a pair of Bridgestone Battlax S21’s fitted to my toy. I ordered them yesterday, clearly stating that I needed them fitted before 4pm. The manager, Jim, rang me back to say he was going to get them in for me, but could not guarantee a time. I got a call from him at 11:30 this morning, saying they’d arrived, yay!.
The fitter, Dan, was careful to show me the chips on my wheels before he removed them. Now this is a first for me, after Dan had taken the old tyres off, he cleaned the wheels for me, doing the back one quite thoroughly in what I think was a degreasing sink. He also adjusted and lubed the chain.
The price I was quoted was £234, cheaper than Burwins £246, and Motorcycle Tyres UK £259 (which I’m meant to get a discount from as I’m a member of ELAM www.elam.org.uk).
This was very good service indeed, and I’d encourage you guys to entertain them for your next set of rubber. Their details are:
I had heard Dan had upped and left a while back and that left them unable to do bike tyres. Will bear that in mind!

That’s true, he left at short notice, and because of that, I had my last set of tyres done at Burwins, because Essential had recently closed. Yet this is great for me, the cheapest price and the best service is in my home borough.
Myself and my local motorcycling pals use Protyre too. We were very glad to find that Dan had returned circa last autumn. He is an enthusiastic biker and is also I believe a bike Mechanic.
Have used Pro Tyre Once when passing through Enfield, the Fella in the Bike Section was Proper, He only changed the Tyres for me but cleaned Chain, Rim etc. he loves it.
Just spoke to them, they will not fit my wet/rain tyres to my wheels ahead of the track day this weekend. Tyres were fitted previously for one track day. Shame as this was easy job for Essential and it was only £10 each wheel (lose). They said they can supply, and fit. Or fit if brand new tyres. Bit like computer says no… Anyone know of other places around north London that will fit part worn tyres?
