Essex Bikers Centre - offering discount to LB MembersAfter finding some Alpinestars leathers on ebay last week, I made an appointment to go up and try them on today. I’m so glad I found this place…
They literally have hundreds of sets of used leathers all in good nick. The service is great and very helpful; I’ve never tried on leathers before and the guy that owns it (Steve) is familiar with the different cuts / shapes of the various brands.
I ended up not going for the Alpinestars as the 40" set seemed on a mission to crush my gentlemans equipment and the 42" were too long in the leg. Instead I got myself a one piece Arlen Ness suit, some Alpinestars boots and some Spidi gloves all for £500.
EDIT: SORRY, the £500 also included Knox Dry Inside base layers - top and bottom, which are £65 seperately. That makes it even more of a bargain!
The company operates from a pretty large unit on a small business centre just on the A120 on the way to Colchester. It’s by appointment only and they will, within reason, accomodate evening and weekend appointments.
I was chatting to Steve about doing track days etc; he has written a guide to your first track day and is going to e-mail it over, so I’ll share that later. I also told him about LB and he has said that he would be happy to give a discount to any LB members.
So, I left with more than I expected and am now fully kitted up to do my first track day, which will hopefully lead on to me becoming a superbike champ within the next year I guess…OK, so perhaps not, but I’ve got the gear!!!
