I’ve been looking for a paddock stand for a few weeks but wasn’t happy with any of them, looked like the bike can fall off them too easily. Even looking at a pro use one they had to be careful once the bike was on it.
This is brilliant, a bit more expensive than a paddock stand but it locks into the bike and it’s so stable the bike can’t fall over or fall off it.
It links into the swing arm pivot and tips the bike forward, adaptors are available for most bikes. They also do adaptors to attach it to the footpeg so you can take the swingarm out of the bike.
Well made, powder coating is think and strong, looks like it’ll last for years and the adaptors fit inside the swingarm pivot so there’s nothing touching the outside of the bike. Also means you can adjust the shock more easily as the suspension is at full reach and not under compression.
I looked in to stands a while ago and came across the ‘Abbas’ site and plugged it in to me favourites. So they live up to their name then and worth getting one?
Used both Abba’s and normal paddock stands, looking to buy an Abba stand for my bike as it is just so much easier to use, and I park on sloped camber as things are. Single handed use and much safer and easier to use than a normal paddock stand.
i use my abba all the time, i bought at the alley palley bike show a couple of years ago, can’t fault it in any way it does exactly what it says on the can, top bit of kit
Totally agree - had mine around 10yrs and used on all sorts of bikes … totally brilliant. As it fixes through the swingarm pivot, you can put a trolley jack under the engine to raise the bike off the floor - possible to do almost any work on the bike except remove the swingarm.
I’d have to say ‘get one’ if you’re thinking about it versus paddock stand.
Thought i’d update this post instead of a new one, Just got one, brilliant bit of kit, very easy to shift the weight of the bike too. Blokes on the stand at excel were top notch, helpful, and allowed me to do the demo in front of everyone, as i wanted to try it out myself. 10/10 :D:D
+1 - Got one including the little front wheeled support at NEC top bit of kit!! Ok, not cheep but way worth it and if you change bike just get the adapters from Abba themselves.
Def praise to these guys - worth every penny… mine is still good as new even after some very rough treatment in the garage… Super stable and pi55 easy to use.
