So, we all often have the urge to just gun the bike and have a bit of throttle fun, right?
And sometime people may be tempted to have a little fun with other road users that they think they can beat or have some fun with, ive done it and im not a speeder. Ive have a bit of fun on a nice road with a car or beating some chavs in a souped up ****-mobile off the mark from the lights.
But, what about police in unmarked car or bikes creating trouble and enticing bikers or drivers to race with them and then catching them and fining them?
What’s your view? Is it fair as if they do it with a cop they might just do it with another person?
Or is it immoral that the people here to fight crime and causing it?
My thought is the latter, its vile that police will make people break the law to just catch them!
Apparently yes, i’d imagine they come up beside you rev/overtake challenge you, so a lot of people will be suckers to that, i know my mate on his ZX10 would, hes already lost his license once for speeding.
Surely anyone who is goaded into racing that easily is a candidate for an early death, points are last thing he needs to worry about.
They dont always do you, sometimes they try to educate you about safety. i know a very good friend of mine who got spotted by police doing 160, the car came up beside him, and flashed up ‘speed limit 70 mph…not 160, not 160’ then pulled him over, and let him go after a stern chat about staying alive…
Police do not ‘goad’ or ‘entice’ you to break the law…there are enough idiots out there to keep police busy without having to resort to underhanded tactics.

Because i can assure you, that if it was as bad as you say ,the video evidence wouldn’t stand up in court for one moment.
There was a blue Impreza on the A120 on Sunday which appeared at my side rather quickly . . . two blokes in white shirts and ties . . . either a swift Jehovah’s Witness looking for a quick conversion or plod in an unmarked car . . . my money was on plod ! (Being on a bike I could see over his side window and see some additional radio kit in the car, didn’t look like an mp3 player or a stack of Bibles)
I was only doing 90ish so he sat there for a few seconds pretending to ignore me, then accelerated hard and slowed down to 60ish and pulled in. I carried on past at 80ish and didn’t respond to his challenge so I guess I passed the sensibility test and he lost interest.
Shame though, I often think it would be nice to blow away some of these cars and not worry about being filmed doing it and having to sit in court afterwards whilst CPS give a running commentary on how I reached an estimated 160mph or so on a dual carriageway and they want me locked up ! :crazy:
I had this the other month, I like a good hack and a laugh on my bike. I always seem to meet strangers and have a bit of friendly speeding fun, Anyway going along in Hertfordshire I was going semi fast along a nice stretch of road when I got cramp in my leg(seem to get it a lot these days)
So I slowed down to relax and stretch my leg when this complete twat was up my arse, Black bike not to sure of the make but he was really trying to push me along. Normally I take the bait but i was so pissed off because my leg hurt and this tw*t was on my back wheel.
About a minute later he whizzed passed. About a mile up the road he had stopped next to a police car and I thought he had been pulled, but no I had to double take as he had a uniform under his leathers.
I could not believe it, I was in two minds to stop and ask him what the f**k he was playing at.
