I ride about loads in central London after hours due to work etc (i.e 10pm onwards)… I can’t remember ever having seen a police biker on my travels… Well once - outside Bayswater underground.
Just wondering why? Is it just something simple like… Night time = less traffic = bikes less useful?
Bar Itlia? I thought it was Krispy Kreme? lol only kidding! I often ride home after dark or early hours n see plenty of jobs bikes out my way, down south wimbledon area. I even got pulled by one for weaving ‘dngerously’ when some ejit cut me off. lol
I spotted an unmarked police bike a while back - I’ve never heard of them before but it was a plain white bike, and the guy had ‘Police’ on the back of his helmet and the police computery screen thing on the handlebars
I had one come up next to me near Sutton one night at about 11:30 when I’d been riding home after a late night at work. He just said to me “60 in a 40, try and slow down a bit”… nice guy.
lol - its true! i had been riding for about 9 months on a 125 when this lorry tried to do a u-turn in a single carriageway and ran over me as I tried to outrun him sideways… 5 minutes later, this cop turns up in plain clothes on a Factory Prillia and asked if I was alright. My response?! “I am, now…”. Unfortunately I never got his number, but HOURS of fun could have been had at night (trying to keep on topic) with him in (out of) his uniform…
As Chunks says I do get around Central London mainly and our lot ride 24hrs,you don’t often see Traffic out on bikes at night, mainly because they are limited in numbers during nights. You might see BTP now and again, but even I see them less than I used to!!Remember to smile when you see us:D I’m the one with the LB sticker on the back of the Shoei, easy to spot!!!
