Some of you already know I work for the Met Police at one of their Vehicle Pounds…those who didn’t…you do now! :DAnyway, we had another bike brought in on Sunday that was a fatal…
…I can’t go into details, but let me say this…
…please be careful out there guys. The drivers may not see you, so you have to watch out for them. A lot of drivers out there are blind to anyone else and only see in tunnel vision cos they’re so narrow minded.
It angers and upsets me to see the bikes that come in…especially when the drivers claim the biker was riding at speed and they didn’t see them. Thankfully, Accident Investigators are good at their jobs and quite often it is proved that the biker was actually travelling at a more reasonable speed and the problem actually lies with the idiot driver.
I ride and drive…and although I’ve only been a rider since May 2006, I’ve always been an observant driver as I always look over my shoulder to look outside the window to make sure there wasn’t a bike, car etc in my blind spot…unfortunately there are far to many drivers out there that rely on mirrors and sensors to do the job for them.
My moto has always remained the same…
…‘You’re born with a number, once its up you’re on ya way…in other words, if you’re destined to go when you’re out on the bike and change your mind that day, you’ll go when you sneeze while brushing your teeth and shove ya toothbrush up into the roof of ya mouth’. So, instead of worrying and avoiding Motorbikes by thinkin they’re a massive danger…just enjoy life.
But please, please, please be careful out there…I don’t want to have to book your bike into our Pound!!! :crying:
