Pig cheeks and druids. 24.8.14

In the absence of a viable alternative ride, we propose, a ride out west to sample Britains oft dismissed cuisine.

Depart the Ace 9.30am for a ripsnorting rideout westward to a porcine aqueduct and lunch stop.

Assuming you`ve survived lunch without a coronary bypass, the return route will be a melange of A and B roads with a cream tea on the way home.

No more than 300miles, back before dark.

[Essex mode on] PS, can anyone lead as I dont know the way. If not Ill repost in three weeks. [Essex mode off]

hell yeah I’m in. where can I meet you ?

We’ll sort it out & liaise soon, good to see some pigcheek fans still exist

I am riding out with Martin on Sunday, but may well join you for breakfast if I can get up after arriving back from Scotland late Sat. if you can rustle up a few Druids that would also swing it for more than breakfast and I’ll dig out my purple tasseled robe as a start. May give the pig cheeks a miss though…

Pig cheeks, druids and nice creams, I’m in and wouldn’t mind leading.

Oh wait, this Sunday you say, I can’t make this Sunday

Any time you fancy an easterly course you can pop by and help with the socks.

Nice cream?

Can we have some floods, gravel, fords and single cart tracks please?

Aw bleedin heck, I’d forgotten about the ford fettish, waterproof socks with the druidic robes shall be the attire of the day!

Any equine muster points?

Any chance of getting stoned on this one:D

To Ricky - You came with us last time we ate pig cheeks by an aqueduct  route planning Sat eve as usual so will pm then if interested x

To Desmond - No.

Right, I am meeting Martin at 9am at the Ace for breakfast, then we will join you for the morning part of the ride and maybe a nice lunch, depending on whether it’s sandwiches at a bus station or a decent roast dinner. Then we will meander off and do our own ride for the afternoon.

Look forward to it!!

Hels - we’ve said what there is for lunch - no roast dinner there, but plenty of pig cheeks (possible veggie options available, it’s a long while since we went so can’t remember the whole menu). After lunch we’ll be coming back too:)

Has Joby confirmed?

Wearing in brand new tyres on the Beemer so will be taking it easy for the first 50 miles

I think I might have managed to lose Geoff when tail gunning with the Jets  I volunteer Martin ( Emsee ) for tail gunner and me for tail gunner assistant
