Maybe not a name that means much to many people in the UK, but in Australia Peter Brock was a Touring Car legend. He won the famous Bathurst 1000 race 10 times. For motorsport in Australia he’s right up there with the greats. He never featured on the world stage like Doohan, Gardner or Brabham, but is probably better known locally than all of them.
Peter died today in a racing accident. His car slid off the road and crashed into a tree.
I actually feel more for this tragedy than Steve Irwin’s death earlier in the week.
