Perks of Your Job

I was just wondering, if anyone else had perks in their jobs?

I love my job, there are times it gets really stressfully, but i couldn’t imagen doing anything else. I work in the Pharmaceutical indrusty which i do project managing and validation.

This means i write and test protocls for new machine process etc within my company. So this includes going to manufactures site and tesing equipment, which means i get to travel anywere. And on top of that, the supplier normally give me goodies (usb sticks, pen knifes, pen light etc) as well as taking us out while testing the mahcines, and showing us round town while eating and drinking what ever we want. This will be the case when i go Germany in a few weeks.

Haven’t got a company car or a company credit card yet, as i am not yet a manager. However, does anyone esle have great perks in their jobs?:cool:

I’m a freelancer, so I get as much holiday as I want! (Though I try not to think about the money I’m not earning while I’m taking it.)

Depending on which magazing I’m working at, I tend to get quite a lot of free stuff… there are definite perks to working in consumer publishing!

Going to Rome was rather nice…!

the only perk, would have to be flexi time. Although every job I’ve had until this one weekends were required, so this being Monday to Friday, could be considered a perk

err,umm,errr…nope!

WOW…wish i got pen knifes and USB sticks…life is so unfair…:w00t::rolleyes::blink::Whistling:

my last job, as music programmer for a festival / bar organizer, meant i had untold free CDs land on my desk every day. most were crap but a lot were good.

my current job in arts marketing means i do get a lot of free tickets to stuff, theatre, cinema, and things like that.

Sometimes get free cd’s & gig/show tickets from clients - small discounts on stuff. Well paid overtime which comes in really handy! Shame the job itself is so boring :stuck_out_tongue:

I tested mobile phone o/s’ for a few years which was good because I had a different hand set every week or so and when I got fed up with one it just went up on eBay

I’m a computer geek for a legal firm.
My perks are playing with new computer kit, buying new computer toys with their money (work justified of course), flexitime and bumming at my desk browsing the net all day!

Odd times they pay for our night’s our too. We went to the 100 club on regent street once, free drinks too. Xmas 08 we had a £110-a-head party and a meal at a tapas restaurant too. Oh and a bottle of wine or box of chocolates as an xmas gift, pay rise and xmas bonus.

Yer, you would be surpirsed how useful they come in handy… esp since i am always busy and always need bits like that. Great for taking away on trips, you know, in case i lose them… but your right, it’s not really a big thing, it’s not like i can’t order this stuff off the stationary buget anyways, i already have a draw full of crap like this…

It’s more getting out of the office really meeting loads of new people and doing different things, that makes a direct difference to my company… and getting paid to something i like doing is the best perk…

Don’t you get any perks ratty?:w00t::rolleyes:

lol, I’d love it if you got a knife from the germans, you wouldn’t be able to bring it back with you!

My old job had me travelling quite a lot, i was technically based out of Manchester, but was on a project in London therefore, my company paid for my flat which was in clerkenwell and I had the option of having my trip home paid for every week (which i did occasionally, but more often than not, i stayed in london), or I got given a great allowance to go where I wanted or do what i wanted… that was niiiice! My new job doesnt have the apartment or the travel allowance, but I don’t have to work 60 and 70 hour weeks every week in this job either so I was happy to sacrifice that to spend more time with my family and friends and to have a life which is number one priority in my life!! So the perks in my new job are really around the company giving a **** about me and my personal life.

I don’t think any job beats Arnie’s for perks! :w00t:

You say that, but back in the day when i used to do street fundraising, i met a porn editor. He done some much twisted stuff, it actually put him off watching porn!:w00t::hehe:

HAHAHA…do you remember the photos that Arnie put up of that party he went to? It was f**king mental!!!I could understand how it would be twisted… I have never met a porn star, but i would presume that they’d not really be into sex outside of work??anyone on here a pornstar???

so why tell us all about it?? bit boring really isnt it…

sorry do you mean meeting lots of new people and rubbing them up the wrong way?( i could go into far more detail) or do you only do that outside of work…big difference to the company? same one you was slagging off not so long ago? wonder if they know that?..

perks? dont need any…i go to work… i earn… i go home…dont need perks…stationary REALLY doent excite half as much as you it seems…

carry on…:Whistling:

hmmmm my job?.. really?.. no perks :D:D

Hmm true, maybe working with something you love might put you off.

Might keep that for recreational purposes only then… Ooops, did I just say that out loud!!

Bordem is only open to interpetation of each person, and for you, it might be.

I only ever rubbed you up the worng way, and that was because i just was intrested in you in that way! Obviously looks like you haven’t got over it!

And everyone once in a while makes comments about there company - it called conversation! :w00t:

I run Home Shopping for a clothing company called White Stuff (bit like fat face but better!) - so I get clothes and a yearly all-expenses weekend in Watergate Bay.

Before that I ran e-commerce for Thomas Pink and got, you guessed it - free shirts.

No porn but I have a decent wardrobe.
