Paul Smith, the founder of SafeSpeed has died.

Paul was a tireless campaigner for safer roads, highlighting the deliberate errors in government statistics and lies told about the effectivness of speed cameras. He was admired in particular for his courage and determination.
bugger is this for real…he really will be a big loss…he was one of the few people out there able to mix it properly through real facts with the goverment and the police who have been twisting the facts for years…and give the speed issue its rightful place in the bigger picture of things less than % important…
Sad loss to a really good useful bloke who I felt as if I knew but clearly did not…sad news for his family and all who did know him…

The A.B.D. website says his partner intends to carry on running the SafeSpeed website. Very sad, I only had a couple of exchanges with him on the forum but I feel like I’ve lost a respected friend. RIP Paul.
