Passed Test,,,,, Yippee

Mrs Gsxrcpfc passed her test on Friday morning:D:D:D:D, she is one happy lady, 48 years old big smile all over her face all weekend.

She currently rides a Suzuki EN125 and is looking for a bigger bike (33bhp restriction ).

One problem, she is five foot one, very slim build and cannot find a bike low enough, we have been looking at bikes new and second hand and the obvious choices are:

Harley883, yamaha virago535, most other chopper bikes.

However she likes the Kawasaki250r but the seat height is 775mm, she needs a seat height of around 745mm, can they be lowered? do you know any companies who specialize in lowering bikes?

As a guide she tried a Kawasaki ER6F, seat height 790, dealer said it could not be lowered enough.

Three bikes in one family, life could’nt be better.

Well done to your missus

I have a hyperpro lowering on my CBR 600f which lowers it by 40mm, has made all the difference to me on my 1st bike, think they are pretty easy to have fitted as well.

well done to her for passing she will kill you for giving age away :w00t:

the erf6 CAN be lowered there’s a big write up about lowering in this months ride magazine including the big BMW GS range down to SV’s most seem around the couple hundred quid mark so buy the mag or see if the article is online, hope it helps

Even though I am 5 3 and a bit, I have not lowered my ER6, however the Suzuki dealer that I bought it from said that they could lower it by at least another 25cm.

The lowered seat takes the width and the height down, and then next thing that they suggested was just to change the spring, which would have cost about £80.

Many congrats on passing the test as well

you can also cheat and drop the front forks in the yolks by an inch that works and you wont notice the change in geometry of the bike…changing the rear spring is a pain but you can get a clamp and compress a couple of the spring loops or even try jubilee clips, dont use just one as they may fail…and dont use tie wraps they will give way…

these are simple tricks and dont involve too much in the way of modifications…

WELL DONE

HOW ABOUT CUTTING THE SEAT DOWN?

MY EX MISSES DONE THAT ON HER 12BANDIT

Well done Mrs gsxrcpfc

Well done

Gary

Well done,… Gratz

Was that not painful to ride…sitting on frame rails

well done

Congrats to your missus! Mine passed hers in July (restricted also). She’s got the CBR400 NC23, but it about 5’ 5", so has a bit of a height advantage.

Bloody hell, fancy putting her age, I’m a dead man walking.

Keep the tips coming, off to buy Ride mag.

Good stuff!
Btw, no advertising here, but have a look at the current issue of “RIDE”
You might get some more inspiration, as they have had an article on very short riders and their bikes…
Other than that… I’m 5"3 and am now riding an SV650S K2 and the seat is padded… so probably could lower it another inch or so… might not be enoug for you, but there’s always other options with the suspension, etc. Just depends on how much you are willing to pay.
But don’t go for a chopper just because you think you can’t drive anything else.

congratulations to Mrs Gsxrcpfc - I have had mine lowered, best thing I ever did

Congrats to the mrs for passing her test.

I’m 5"4 and had my SV650S K4 lowered. It made all the difference i needed. However, if she is as small as me, she may find the standard SV is tricky to move as it’s a bit on the heavy side (until i changed the exhaust over!! sounds better and made me more confident!).

By failing that, CB400 are great bikes for the smaller lady.

get a copy of RIDE (sure its ride) they have a bit on bikes for short riders…ER6f and GS650 beemers have teh lowest seat hieght im sure, most 400 sports bikes, ie CBR,ZXR,FZR,GSX-R also have a low seat:)

most bikes can be lowered…just dont buy her a supermoto…saying that dhofty rides one and hes a bloody midget:D;):stuck_out_tongue:

well done

Good stuff!
