:w00t:NOT AGAIN:w00t:
No, I’ve got a life.
Rather than sit around being a pain in the @rse to others I prefer to get on my bike and ride it!
I think you need to be a special kind of mentalist with a severe selfish streak to want to go on a demo ride about bike parking.
You’d think they were trying to put a tax on breathing the way this lot carry on :w00t:
Morning everybody
Nice day again today
Already a post on this, lets not go back to a million posts for one demo!!
Why not . . . ?
Bit of fun ;)![]()

I’ve been on one of the demos and I ain’t a ‘special kind of mentalist with a severe selfish streak’. I went cos I had a day off and nothing else to do and it was a perfect opportunity to see my friends who were there. If the authorities only charged a £1 for the day and kept the price low, made payment easy and provided proper security then I’m sure the majority of people on the demo wouldn’t be there. But its like everything in this Country, they introduce something like this and then make it compulsory and press charges and threaten court and a criminal record if you decide to go against them when they inflate the prices.
I’ve got no issues with people going on demos, that’s one of the qualities of living in a free Country, you have freedom of speech. Unfortunately people are starting to feel like they’re being taxed on everything. The latest thing to be aired on the news is the possibility of a Broadband Tax:
The minister for Digital Britain reiterates the government's commitment to a 50p tax on fixed phone lines.
Everyday we hear about another ‘tax’ being added to our services. We’ve had an economic crisis but the only people to suffer are us, the workers who pay their way in life, while those at the top ensure they’re safe.
Maybe I’m sounding like I’m moaning and making a mountain out of a mole hill, but over the past 12 months Dave has managed to escape redundancy twice, then yesterday the remainder of the staff were asked to take a 10% pay cut or suffer more redundancies. There are people on here who have already suffered from redundancy, some more than once. And you’d think my job was safe, but when you see how they’ve taken on 10 month contracted staff while making things for us more permanent staff unbearable, you can’t help but think they’re trying to push us all out and replace us with 10 month-ers.
If most people are in the same boat then its hardly surprising they’ll go on demos to try and make some kind of difference on something they feel they can control if their careers are beyond their control.
Anyway, best I get off my soap box cos I need to go and batter the hoover around the house! ![]()
I think steve was just having a minor pop at it being posted in here yet again when it has its own section thats all
I make you right there uncle. The bike parking you show works out at about 90p per hour so Westminster looks like a bargain:D
