Oxford Bikers?

Due to changing jobs (again) we’re going to be moving (again) to South Oxon, just down the road from H’s. Meeting up for any LB rideouts in the future is going to be a right pita, although not impossible. Are there any groups / forums based around our new area that you’re aware of? I’m more interested in the rideout side of things, rather than just the online socialising (which I’m not particularly good at!), and I’m more into my sports and supersports rather than cruisers - but, hey, I ain’t overly fussy.

I know that there are the occasional rideouts with the 675.cc lot, but have you got any other suggestions?

Count me in- I’m near Woodstock.
H’s is about a 20 min ride from here.

Rusty and a few others frequently do a Sunday ride up to Chipping Norton for breakfast- from the Ace I think, which might go past you.

The 675.cc guys are a pretty good bunch. I’ve done a couple of weekend trips with them and a track day.

I did think of you . And Rosso when he’s allowed out to play. I’ve done a lot of surveying work around where you live and, although I don’t know the area as well as you do, you’ve got some brilliant back roads and amazing scenery.

We’ll be moving next month, just in time for the better weather (fingers crossed in hopefulness).

I have seen your posts on there - even though you’ve ditched the Trumph, ya traitor

Hooray, I've got my own stalker.

TQ3 (Anne the scaf) gets on here sometimes she lives in Abingdon and knows all the locals

What part of South Oxfordshire are you moving to?

South Moreton on the South Oxon / White Horse borders.

We already go to H’s and surrounds quite a lot, but I’m absolutely kak at getting to know people.

Nice one.

Yes some great roads around here- Woodstock -> Bourton on the Water is a nice ride, as is Woodstock to Burford.

We leave from Watford and head towards Hemel Hempstead.....

That’s only a teeny, weeny detour to pick us up… From the opposite direction…

Janey, if I can do the Ace in an hour from where I am , sure you could do to. lol

Oh there’s no question of actually being capable of getting there. It’s more a matter of being arsed! Plus with a new job and new house, I’d like to be more involved with what’s going on around me and getting some rideout mates in my new area.

There used to be a weekly summer bike night at the H, I moved back to London so no idea if it is still on.

There is an Oxford Bikers meetup group too; again good bunch. Not the same pace or scene as London, but being Berinsfield way will actually be handy as most of their rides head off into the Cotswolds.

Did you use to live up that way? Yeah, there’s still a weekly meet at H’s over the summer months, on a Monday if I remember correctly. I did Google “Oxford Bikers” but although some of the results were, umm, interesting, none were really what I was after. I don’t do a, tassels or b, patches

Almost takes me that long from South London.
